Description: Danny Kay's Riverside Restaurant is located on the Little River with River views from the dinning room or from our outdoor patio. Live music on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. Our menu consists of great burgers, luscious chicken and fish sandwiches, Cajun Gumbo, Shrimp and Crawfish Etouffee, Po'Boys, Shrimp boil and much more! All made from scratch, we don't even have a can opener in the building! We keep it mild so everyone can enjoy the great flavors but we can spice it up for those that want to work up a sweat!

Went for lunch. Service was great. Cajun food superb. Would definitely go back. We had the gumbo and the étouffée . Gumbo was good, étouffée was awesome! Also have local beers on tap. Okra was really good!

“Make sure the owners are present”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

If you've got plenty of time and patience you'll enjoy this restaurant. It took forever for our food to come and then the orders weren't correct. The waiter told us he was also cooking. When our food did arrive it was good. Others have said the same. It's a great place to eat if Danny and Kay are on site.

“Atmosphere, Entertainment, Scenery and Great Food!”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

My husband and I saw Danny Kay's along the river line while we were tubing a few days ago and knew right away that we wanted to check them out. Of course, after reading the reviews and reading the menu, we were anxious to go. We went last night, Wednesday July 3rd. It was a rainy night, but what better way to spend a rainy evening? The restaurant was very clean and smelled delicious! We opted to sit outside on their covered patio, overlooking the river, to enjoy the live music...which they have certain nights of the week. We knew there would be live music tonight, which is one of the reasons we chose this night.

To start, my husband and I, split the Wedge Salad Sumptuousness, which is a wedge salad topped with blue cheese, blue cheese crumbles, tomatoes, real bacon bits and croutons. It's a GENEROUS portion, definitely enough to share between two people and it was delicious. For our entree, we had the Gumbo Hebert, which is a delicious gumbo with shrimp, andouille sausage and chicken over rice in a dark roux. It's served with crispy, garlic bread. We were actually planning on having another entree, but we were feeling so full that we decided to split a dessert instead. We had the Bananas Foster which I highly recommend. It's sweet enough, yet not too sweet with just the right amount of rum.

The live music was great and really gave the entire evening that extra touch. Danny, the owner, is actually the performer along with another very nice man, (i didn't catch his name), but he was so sweet and stopped to talk to my husband and I during the break.

Our server, Leah, was a very sweet girl and very attentive. Our overall experience was incredible and we will definitely return. I'm dying to try one of their Po'Boy sandwiches and the Beignets!

This restaurant is a MUST for anyone who wants a break from the ordinary restaurants in the area. This is delicious Cajun food, with a wonderful atmosphere, a great view of the river and super friendly people.

“Ok food, bad service, nice location”
Reviewed June 30, 2013 via mobile

Came here to hear a band and service was a mess. I thought it was just because it was busy from the band, but based on reviews this seems to be the norm here. I wish them all the best, but it took forever to get a menu, and once the food came out it was ok. The onion rings and grilled chicken were great, but the fried buffalo shrimp was not something I'd ever order again. I wish them all the luck, service needs to improve vastly.
