This restaurant is located in the center if Townsend, TN. We ate outside and enjoyed the view of the Smokey Mountains while eating delicious Cuban sandwiches, yucca fries and black beans. The service was great! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Loved both the picadillo and Cuban sandwiches. Service was on the mark. Owners might consider switching the type of plastic cups they use for beverages (they crack easily, and the contents head south).

Delilah, thank you for your review and for your very valuable input. We did some research and found that the supplier had made a small change without our knowledge... to the brand of plastic cups that we had been using. After your mishap and review, we did in fact complained to the supplier and having accepted his apology, we are awaiting receipt of new cups which will be stronger in the weight of the plastic used in their design. Although we are not certain as to if this was a "one time" event, we made the decision and are very thankful to you for having brought this issue to our attention. Once again, please accept both our apology and thanks for putting up with this deficiency...but more importantly for taking the time to care and make the much needed suggestion! Look forward to your next visit!

After reading the other reviews, there is not much more to add. This is one of the best restaurants on either side of the Smokies. If you are staying in Gatlinburg, it's well worth the trip to Townsend for Lil' Cuban Cafe alone.. By the way, the leftovers never made it through the night.. Our dinner and visit with the owner was so enjoyable that it made up for some earlier disappointments on our trip. It was one of the highlights of our vacation which was spent in both TN and NC.

From the gracious service to the exceptional cuisine, this is one hell of a place! Shaded outside seating made the phenominal cuban sandwiches seem even better than I'd imagined. Juicy, succulent pork, and ham, smothered with warm melting cheese and a crispy pickle.....Oooooh. Life is good here.

Visited here with my sister while enjoying the autumn colors in the mountains and the shops at Trillium Cove, and glad we did! The traditional Cuban sandwich was enough for 2, and delicious! Great fun watching the food arrive via dumbwaiter from the upstairs kitchen! I can also highly recommend the strong Cuban coffee! The owners are helpful and very friendly. Great to find something besides Subway and Wendy's in such a small town!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with all of us! We are of course thrilled that you and your sister enjoyed your dining experience with us....it truly is about you not us!
That dumbwaiter is not just fun to watch, but it truly is a life saver for the knees and lower back of not so young people like yours truly.... a little bit of island engineering! Please come back and see us again real soon!
