It was a rainy day, but we still managed to see horses, bears, deer, and even a crow. Its amazing to see homes that were built so long ago. It was a nice drive. Walking/hiking would have taken way too long. The only thing we didn't like was the rangers shooing people away when the bears/horses/etc were near the road and people wanted pictures. Kinda made it seem staged.

We always visit Cade's Cove on our trips to Pigeon Forge. We love riding around the loop and looking for bears. We spotted 2 today. We took a picnic lunch and ate before we rode the loop. The old buildings half way through are always nice to look at and a great picture opportunity. Make sure you stop by the store when you're finished for some awesome soft serve ice cream!

We visited over spring break with our kids ages 8, 10, and 12. All three liked going through the old buildings.
Pros: nice views, nice drive, neat buildings.
Cons: not enough living history. The mill was working and there were a couple rangers taking, but no blacksmith, etc...
Recommendations: it's a long drive. Pack a lunch and plan on picnicking up there. Don't forget to fill up with gas first! We almost ran out. Plan on spending 3 hours.

Had a look at the way of life for some many years ago. Followed the auto trail and saw some amazing mountain views and wildlife. The mill is very interesting, and the old houses are so good, I took some pics and made them sepia tone, look more authentic now! If you're lucky enough to get a sunny day the views are out of this world, didn't get to see a bear as it wasn't warm enough, but the deer are plentiful. A great day, en route try to stop off at Riverstone family restaurant a few miles away.

My sister came for a visit from Ohio. Although it was too early to see the colors we had hoped for, it was a very enjoyable tour. It was a chilly, rainy day; but our driver, Warren, was very personable and extremely knowledgeable. All the information he told us about the history of the Cove was so interesting and impressive. He knew so many facts and dates. It really enhanced our tour. Probably the best value you will get in the National Park area.
