“Robin Cabin. More than could ask for.”
Reviewed August 23, 2010

The Cabin itself was unbelievable. Looked like new on inside and for the price you get so much. It was great to be able to Leave Cades Cove to go cook on the grill at our cabin. The reason I did not give it a 5 star though was the confusion on getting there and the danger of the drive up the mountain. We first went to the wrong place of buisness which had a similar name but we were politely directed to the correct Dogwood buisiness. Once there we were given a key and directions. One thing I could not find out online was where was feather mountain. Basically it is on the opposite site of the main group of cabins (mountain across the street). Sorry if thats confusing, just map out Pauley Gap Road in Townsend and you can see the cabins with the green roofs. The ride up the mountain during the day was no problem. The signs are easy to find during the day but at night it became a little dangerous. On the way up we tried to turn at a wrong turn and could have got stuck had we not got out and looked around and realized it was the wrong turn. Still the correct turn that we turn at is a little tight for my liking as well. Top that with no lights on the road, it was dark, little rain was coming down and the road is pebbles. It became stressfull quick. However we did manage and made it but it could have gone bad really quick. With that aside, the cabin is very nice. The grill nicer. and the hot tub was the best. I think next time we will stay with Dogwood again but on the other mountain that is against the park.

We rented a 1BR cabin from Dogwood. The cabin was clean, for the most part....I am pretty picky but it passed my review! It was in a great location..liked the access to Laurel Valley Golf club and pool. The only real complaint was the listing said KING size bed in the bedroom, but it was a queen. That room was fairly small so I doubt there has ever been a King size bed in there.
Townsend is a great little town and is truly the quiet side of the Smokies. It is very quiet there even in the heart of tourist season. LOVE IT!
I would rent from this company again.

My husband an I visited the Smoky Mountains for our anniversary. This was the first time we had stayed in the Townsend area, and it was really peaceful and definitely slower paced than Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. If you want to be away from the crowds, this is the place to stay.

We rented a one-bedroom cabin from Dogwood Cabins at Trillium Cove. The cabin itself was nice, clean, nicely decorated, and was in a quiet, peaceful location. However, we selected the cabin based on the amenities mentioned on the website. The bed size was listed as a KING SIZE bed. When we arrived, we found that the bed was a FULL (or DOUBLE) size bed. That is quite a step down from a king size bed, and since this was a one-bedroom cabin, it was the only bed except for the sleeper sofa. Also, the mattress was quite hard and uncomfortable. When we talked to the staff in the office, they offered no discount or other resolution for the mistake in the bed size. The man at the desk said that the owners must have changed bed sizes on them without telling them. Another staff member sheepishly listened to our conversation and would not look me in the eye (she is the one we received the keys from when we arrived). However, the owners could not have changed bed sizes on them because the bedroom really isn't large enough to hold a king size bed. A queen size bed would have been about the most you could fit into this room. The full size bed really was the most appropriate size to be in proportion to the width of the room. The room also held a chest of drawers with a TV, and two night stands that barely fit by the sides of the bed. In fact, one of the night stands partially blocked the path to the bathroom making it a bit awkward to walk around, but really wasn't too much of a problem. The main point is that there is no way that a KING size bed could fit into this room as advertised. I pointed out to the staff that the website and brochure need to be changed........And at the time of this writing, the website still has not been changed, and the bed in the cabin is still listed as king size.

I can understand an honest mistake in advertising, but to not make any corrections after the staff has been made aware of the mistake, and to continue to overlook the mistake and blame it on the owners of the cabin as switching bed sizes without telling them is inexcusable. I know we are not the fist people to make them aware of this mistake.

Other than the uncomfortable and small bed, the cabin was nice and we enjoyed our stay in Townsend. We will definitely return and stay in Townsend again, but we might use another rental agency to find a cabin to stay in. I prefer to deal with a rental agency that is honest and cares about keeping their customers happy.

We had heard about Dogwood Cabins from a friend and checked out their nice website. We stayed in "Above it All" for 4 days over the 4th of July. It was blissful. We saw deer, wild turkeys, a family of skunks and lots of birds, as well as a beautiful mountain view. You also get access to the golf course and a great pool right in a valley with mountains all around. The best part was the cabin was quite nice - very clean and stocked with supplies to get you through a couple of days. The property is managed well. If you are looking for a mountain vacation and want to avoid the tacky crowds of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, check out Dogwood Cabins in Townsend, TN. A short drive to one of the most beautiful drives in the Smokes - Cades Cove and the Little River Road. Easy trip to white water rafting on the Pigeon River. Great time!
