“Great little cabin, location, scenery”

This was a great little cabin. Just the right size for 2 people. Nicely decorated. Well supplied with a variety of games, movies, blankets. Essential spices, coffee. The soap and shampoos were nicer than the average hotel supply. It rained the majority of our stay, so we didn't get to utilize the patio area. But it looked peaceful, with the hammock and stringed lights.

The location was excellent. 1/2 mile off the main 4 lane through Townsend. So stopping back by between shopping and dining out was no problem. About 3 miles from the National Park. A decent selection of restaurants, antique stores, grocery, and activities nearby.

The scenery was excellent. A stream running through the front yard. Some places advertise waterfront, but this place has a bridge from the deck to the mailbox. In warmer weather I imagine you could open the windows and listen to the stream from the living or dining room.

A superb experience. This place will be our first choice for a couples getaway, hopefully, for years to come.

Thank you, Jo! I'm so glad that you, your husband, and pups enjoyed Hideaway on the Creek. I suppose it's possible to not feel peaceful at Hideaway on the Creek, but I don't know how :-) Now that you've found Hideaway, we hope you'll come again.

My wife, son and myself enjoyed a few days of relaxation here while visiting the Smokies. Had everything needed from kitchen to bathroom. Clean cabin with fireplace and nice deck. You can see and hear the creek outside while on the porch or deck. Good value.

“Great place to beat the summer heat”
Reviewed October 20, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Me, my wife, my 2 year old daughter, and my dog stayed an extended weekend at Hideaway at the end of July. The summer heat was being brutal to Knoxville and it was nice to be in the mountains for a little while. The Pigeon river was across the street on the parkway and it was cold and refreshing. We also drove up to Gatlinburg and enjoyed some of the attractions and shops and it was nice being close enough to the hustle and bustle but then we got back to the cabin where it was quiet and peaceful. The cabin had a creek next to it and it was nice swinging on the hammock and listening to the water flowing. The kitchen was well equipped and Myra even left treats for my dog. There was even a charcoal grill, charcoal, and lighter fluid for us to use. The mattress for the bed was very comfortable. There were Smoky Mountain themed games and puzzles for our family to enjoy. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a mountain getaway. There is a pull out couch so I think you can have a family of 4 at Hideaway, but we have also stayed at Owl's Hoot before, which is under the same ownership, and we would recommend that cabin for larger families/groups. The hospitality Myra shows in the care for her guests and properties is unmatched. Highly Recommend!
