“Great little place”

It's a small place with a gift shop and a few rooms with some really neat historical stuff about the local railroads, but it's a great place to take a picture of your kids. They have an old portable steam engine, a full sized engine and a water tower that you can take pics in front of...... my son and I were looking for an hour to kill while his sister rode horses and this was perfect. Plus, it is free......they have a donation box to help keep the place going but you arent pressured in any way

There's a lot of history here. Something fun to do with the whole family. Most of it is outside but they do have a gift shop and the old post office on site.

I loved looking at the old machines and old saws. But most of all it was free. The lady took us through and gave us a tour of all the pics and tools. The lady was very informative. I would recommend to anyone who loves historic sites.

I am a big fan of trains so the locomotive was very interesting. The exhibits were interesting. My only complaint is that there needs to be some more interactive exhibits to keep the younger children entertained.

My fiance and I went here on 6/29/2013 and it was so much fun! This a great place to learn about the railroad history of Towensend and the surrounding area! Ask the gift shop employ for some information and they are sure to tell you a story! I am personally a train enthusiast but this is fun for anyone of any age!
