Springfield Inn Hotel & Extended Stay
Ranked #2 of 2 Hotels in Springfield
Reviewed July 17, 2013

The Springfield Inn is a nice enough place with good-sized rooms, but it is a bit pricey for what it offers. Taxes and extras add quickly to the room rate advertised, getting it close to triple figures for a night. There is no closet but simply racks by the basin/vanity to hang your clothes on. Not a big deal, but kind of an indication of the hotel's "star" status. The first of our two-night stay the maid had forgotten to put pillow slips on the pillows on one of the beds, but that was quickly resolved with a call to the desk. The "art gallery" promoted by the hotel currently is a couple of photo exhibits by a local photog, one of which is pretty good and the other just black-and-white shots of a country walk. One of the rooms has been converted into a fitness area, but it has only a stationary bike, treadmill, and a somewhat mysterious multi-purpose machine to target various muscles. The same clerk who had checked us in seemed to be around all the time and certainly was busy. She also was very friendly and cheerful. The offerings for breakfast didn't include a waffle iron, which was surprising, but the room itself was spacious. There are several restaurants nearby, though others in our party said the Shoney's next door wasn't very good. A great place for dinner is The Depot about five minutes away up the side street. (Go past the KFC to the left and keep bearing right.) Springfield is within a half-hour drive or so of Nashville and its numerous attractions, though it is a real stretch to claim the hotel is "located near Vanderbilt Stadium," as the Magnuson Hotels website claims. There aren't a whole lot of choices in Springfield, so it's good to see the Springfield Inn is of the quality it is. This was our second stay. We likely will check out the nearby Hampton Inn next time, but won't be all that upset if we have to settle for the Springfield Inn again.

Room Tip: This is a horseshoe shaped complex with the pool in the middle. Pick your room accordingly!

Thank You for taking the time to share your experience during the recent stay at our Springfield Inn. As a valued guest, your opinion & feedback is sincerely appreciated and is shared with ownership and associates.

The associates at the Springfield Inn try very hard to provide all guests with clean, friendly accommodations at a competitive price. The 16.75% state/county tax rate certainly does increase the overall cost of a guest room but we feel our location, clean rooms and "Hometown"
service is a good value for the area.

If your travels bring you back to the Springfield/Nashville area, please continue staying with us.

Family has stayed here before but the pet friendly room I booked for this trip was not great. They have 10 pet friendly rooms. The one I stayed in had very stained carpets and furniture. It was cleaned as well as they could. It didn't smell bad but the condition of everything was poor. The bed was in good shape, clean, and comfortable.
The breakfast staff and staff in general was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast selections were pretty poor compared to most other hotels that I have stayed in without a pet.

Thank You for staying with us at the Springfield Inn. It was our pleasure to serve you and we sincerely appreciate the review. Please note that we are presently detail cleaning all of our pet friendly rooms and making changes to the room décor. We also are continually adding/subtracting breakfast items to our morning bar hoping to meet/exceed our customers expectations. We just recently added a cooked to order walnut & pecan waffle to our selection and will be adding a variety of yogurts. Thank You again for staying with us and come back and visit us soon.

My family stayed at this location for the weekend, we were very pleased. The staff was exceptionally friendly, the hotel was clean, & my kids were very impressed with the breakfast! We plan on visiting again when the weather is nice enough to take advantage of the pool. :-)
