Excellent staff! Everyone will take care of you...no matter what their job title is. Evins Mill is like your own private State Park and is home to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the State of Tennessee.

We spent 2 nights with another couple. We were welcomed by a male staff member. He asked if we needed help with our bags, but declined to assist - said he "hadn't had his Wheaties"??? Not such an issue going down to the cabins, as it's downhill. Leaving is a major issue, and leaves a bad taste, considering how nice the staff is otherwise. The food is pretty much excellent, and the wait staff is very attentive. There was no champagne, despite being listed on the menu and website. No problem there, as I brought my own, but would have gladly paid them for a glass with dinner. We felt badly about asking for lunch (they only include breakfast and dinner with the room rate), as it turned out we were the only ones there and realized that we had the staff come in early, just for us.

Mu husband and his brother booked a guide for fishing on the Caney Fork and had a good time and caught a lot of fish.

There are no phones is the room - hey, we all have cell phones, but there is no way to register a request without a hike up to the lodge. I would only have called for help with bags anyway. No extra toilet paper. Beautiful setting. Clean rooms. Tiny TV's with VCR players and an old selection of tapes in the lodge. Why even bother? There is satellite TV in the lodge and mill, but that seems beside the point to me. Had a good massage. If you're looking for nothing to do, this is it. That said, bring a good book and sit out on the porch and listen to the rushing stream. Kind of a mixed review for me, but had a great time with our friends.

This is not the first time I have been to Evins Mill. It is the first time that I have taken the children. Perhaps not the most kid friendly place, but that does not detract from the remarkable stay we had.

You cannot state strongly enough that the owners of this establishment have decided that the Inn will be first rate. The staff is so welcoming, and the food is five star. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend away, my recommendation is that you look at this possibility. For those looking for a little peace and tranquility, look no further. Whether you are sitting on a rocking chair on your cabin deck overlooking the creek, or simply walking the grounds, you will immediately feel a connection to the history of the property that makes it so unique.

For those needing a little adventure, take the stroll to Carmack Falls. Both times I have made the trek, I was rewarded with one of the most incredible views, and done so with absolute solitude. But be aware that the trail leading to the falls requires some hiking skills!

Once you visit Evins Mill, you might as well plan your return trip because there is no question that you will want to do it again.

Easy to find. Not remote, but you feel like you are far away from noise, traffic and fast paced life.
Wonderful, friendly staff, from owner to housekeeping.

Maybe the tipping issue could be clearer. We were happy to tip, but we left it along the way-dinner, room. Upon checking out, we realized we probably should have waited and added the tip to our bill. We then added an additional small tip on the bill, but it seemed rather small at that point.
