“Nice 50's style”
Reviewed May 5, 2014

We had good hamburgers and milk shakes in this fun 50's style locally owned diner. Service was great too! It's easy to find at 550 Winfield Dun Parkway, HWY 66.

Sorry it has taken so long to thank you for the post. Found some old posts we had never responded to, will try to catch them up. We appreciate all honest feedback in THE DINER & on posts.

Those burgers are still 81-19 Angus & are char-grilled fresh to your order and the shakes, also no change: hand dipped with the finest ingredients, no shortcuts.
Say hello to HK or SQ if you get back this way. We appreciate your dining with us.

“What A Breakfast!!!”
Reviewed May 4, 2014 via mobile

Our breakfast was so good this morning at The Diner we can hardly wait to go back sometime for lunch or dinner. (The elkburger looks GREAT!) This place looks like a tourist trap, but it is the real deal. It's shiny metal exterior is actually pretty cool looking...a flashback to a much earlier era. The servers were friendly and timely...and then there was the food. My wife and I both had Mawmaw's Favorite, with 2 eggs, 2 biscuits, hashbrowns, and grits. Then we got a side of biscuits and gravy.

OK, so here we go. ALL of the food was great (except that they have Pepsi instead of Coke...personal taste issue there.) But the OUTSTANDING items were the bacon (really thin and crispy and SUPER flavorful), the grits (bad grits are really bad, but GOOD GRITS ARE REALLY GOOD...and these are GOOD.) Then the biscuits and gravy...maybe the best ever. We live in Texas and have some great biscuits and gravy, and these were at least as good as our best.

Onward to their fried green tomatoes, elk burgers, and chocolate malts! Can't wait to give them a shot.

“Nice Place, Good Food”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

We stopped in for lunch. Nice selection to choose from. Service was good, decor is neat (retro diner). Portion sizes are good and everything seemed to be fresh made. Prices are fair. Would recommend if you are looking for good "diner" food.

“Family of 6”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

We ordered 3 cheeseburgers, pancakes and bacon, shrimp skewer and a side of pasta, a kids spaghetti and meatballs and a banana split. My burger was supposed to be 8oz, but there's no way. I sold meat for 6 years and that was not a half pound patty. The flavor was good, the fries were really salty. The pancakes were good, big too. The banana split was enough to feed all 4 kids. Our sever was pretty frazzled with only 2 or 3 tables and I saw the manager eating while walking around. All in all I'd say this was fairly average. Nothing as spectacular as the reviews would indicate.
