“Very Friendly Staff”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

Hello, I recently stayed at your resort this last weekend with the kids. It was a blast. The rooms were absolutely clean, very close to everything and the staff was great with the kids, Even at the pool. The lifeguard I think his name might have been Jesse actually talked and joked with my kids while they were swimming. Its def. what they needed after the horrible divorce we all went through. Thank you so much for a great stay. Will be back next year.

My family & I usually stay at RiverStone or the Inn at the Christmas Place. Since both were booked the day we arrived in town, we decided to stay here. It's pretty standard/ plain when it comes to decor and furnishings. However, the rooms were clean, we had a kitchenette, and washer/dryer. The location was very convienent- right across from Tanger Outlet. The staff was friendly. My son loved the pool area..and compared to the other hotels we've stayed in..I think they have the best pool area for small children. Overall, it was a nice stay.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us here at The Resort at Governor’s Crossing and for posting your comments. Our main goal is to provide clean, safe and comfortable accommodations in a friendly environment, we are glad you approved.
We have tired to make The Resort a place where “Family Vacation meets Fun & Relaxation” for all ages. This past year we have added new features for our younger guests, as comments like yours and other guest comments requested this.
We again thank you and hopefully you will again choose to stay at The Resort.

Me and my family had a wonderful time at our first stay at the Resort. Chris the pool attendant was very friendly and helped our kids put on their life vests. He handed us clean towels when we were leaving the pool. We will definitely come back from Claxton Georgia to the Resort.

Took the kids for one last hurrah for the summer. Check-in was super easy and we were allowed to get our room early. Pools were super clean and had pool attendants, and a lot of pool towels. We had two bedroom condo, very nicely decorated. There were 3 flat screen TV's, 2 bathrooms, super nice upgraded kitchen, and cool balcony overlooking town and pool.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend in late September as a base for a weekend hiking in the Smokies. We had booked a queen studio. I had checked on Expedia, and checked with the resort itself that the windows in the rooms opened, and was told that they did (I need them to - in Europe it is insanity to not have windows that open). It turns out the queen studio rooms do not have opening windows, so I told reception that I'd been misinformed when I booked.
They were very gracious and kind, and upgraded us to a suite, where we had a balcony, thus, fresh air. The suites are spotless, roomy, comfortable, and a joy to spend time in. We were here for 3 nights, and one night they forgot to change our towels and empty the bins (There is no full housekeeping as this is technically a condo resort, not a hotel, and this is reflected in the great price). We called reception and they very expediently sent up a very polite lady to do this. I was pretty impressed with the service here.
The only slightly negative thing I will say is that the queen studios (aside from the window not opening) are pretty small, I don't know if I'd have been happy in that small space even if the window had opened.
We didn't find the place noisy, even though it was a weekend with plenty of kids around. Everyone seems to be inside by 11ish anyway.
Next time we go to the Smokies we will definitely stay here, but will make sure to book a suite from the get-go.

Room Tip: Try and book a suite if you are staying for more than one night.

We stayed here 9/28 and 9/29 and enjoyed our trip to the resort. The pool area was exciting for our children. The pool attendant Chris was very friendly and helpful. He told us the quickest way to get to the outside pool and he dried off the pirate ship slide after it rained. We enjoyed the clean spacious rooms and the location was very close to Dollywood. We will be back for our daughter's birthday.
