“Would be better without the air freshenrs”
Reviewed November 5, 2010

We like to make the occasional shopping trip to the Pigeon Forge area and are always looking for great places to stay close to the shopping malls. The location for the Fairfield Inn is great. Our only complaint was when we checked into our room the smell of air freshener about knocked us down. We turned on the ac and it made it worse. After looking all around the room, we finally located it in the ac/heater unit. when we went to the front desk to see if they could move us to another room without all the floral smell, they put us in another room which we knew right away had the same problem. The front desk folks were very nice about it and once again gave us a key to a third room which thankfully did not have an air freshener. For those of us with allergies and sinus issues, we could really do without all the perfume smell.

I am not the pickiest of people but the location has changed over the years. First of all when I made the reservation I requested additional pillows. When we checked in I reminded the clerk of this- she said " oh we don't look at those requests"...so- I ended up speaking to them about this 3 more times to get 2pillows for the sofa bed. By the way the sofa bed is a twin. The extra blanket provided for the beds was like sand paper. The air was on 80 when we came in the room so it took until the next evening to get it down to 72 granted it was in the upper 90's all week. The pool was very narrow and only room for a few people. Room dusty, fridge dirty inside and hot- I actually put a bucket of ice in fridge to cool our drinks. The biggest kicker for us...no consistent water temp in shower- it literally changed hot cold hot good cold all while trying to sauce one leg. This place was a joke

Only stayed one night, due to rewards thru marriott and then on to a cabin. The room was much smaller then other fairfields. Maybe was an older hotel that was renovated. Was an excellent location for the tanger mall and several good restraurants close by. No frig or microwave in room which was a big deal to my family since we like to keep drinks and snacks. Very close to the main road so noise can be heard all night. Pool was small but not crowded. And you have to walk out of the hotel main doors around the sidewalk to get to the pool (kind of odd). The pool is right in the front of the hotel

We stayed June 17-21, 2010 at this hotel and it was clean, well staffed, and the breakfast was above average. The beds were very comfortable. The pool is a bit on the small side, but as little as it was being used it was fine. We drive into Gatlinburg daily, a nice, pretty dive but, with some traffic. I done laundry while there and the wash area was clean and they provided the supplies and the cost was $1.25 a load. I have read some of the reviews posted and found all the positive to be true, and the negative just did not happen to us. It is a very nice place to stay. We bought some of our Dollywood tickets there for 2 days for the price of 1 day. The hotel was 1/2 price because we done the tour of the time share/ Wyndham. That was not a pleasant two hours, but gave the hotel for a great price. All together I would recommended this hotel to anyone.

I read several of the reviews for this hotel and was very surprised not to hear mention of the dampness in the rooms. The carpet felt literally wet when we walked in, which I thought would dissipate after the AC was in full swing... WRONG. Rolling over at night onto a damp (practically wet) pillow is disgusting! My clothes were wet after hanging in the closet area. When I called the front desk I was told, "It's just an old building and it absorbs the moisture." Wow.

We stayed here for one night recently. We have a young child and wanted to stay somewhere convenient to the outlet malls. The Tanger outlet is directly across the street from the hotel. There are also several restaurants nearby. Wal Mart is just down the street. Very good location.

The hotel itself was fine. Nothing fancy, just a typical Fairfield Inn. The pool was very tiny. Breakfast was basic. The room was decent size. For the price of the hotel, it was a very good value. Nothing fancy, but it definitely met our needs.
