The Deer Farm is an awesome place for anyone who likes animals! We visit it every fall during our annual trip to Pigeon Forge. The staff is super friendly and the animal encounters are AWESOME! Our kids really love the goat pen and deer feeding. My wife loves feeding the larger animals like the camels and the Belgium Draft Horse. This time we decided to have the kids try the pony rides. They loved it! Overall, we useually spen about 2 1/2 to 3 hours at the Deer Farm. It is a must see for our family every year!

Great for the littlest vacationers. Pony rides went over great! Feeding the animals was exciting for the 1 and 3 year old as well as mama and daddy. The "zonkey" is very cool! Definitely a better option than some of the ridiculous stuff on the "strip" in Pigeon Forge.

If you love animals, this is a must!! My husband and I can't wait to come to the deer farm every time we're in the area. The goats are sooo much fun. And the baby goats are too cute to handle. The variety of animals you can feed and pet is amazing. The staff is awesome! Very friendly and courteous. It's a must do in the mountains and you can get the best pictures of your family with the animals.

Driving down a winding country roadway, up and down the rolling hillside, you'll begin to wonder if you're lost... right about this time, you'll see a small sign saying "You're almost there!" Don't give up, this place is worth the journey, especially if you have kids. You enter through the gift store/office area, where you buy tickets and receive your "safety rules." They explain to you how to feed the different animals, and which ones you can't, because they're on special diets. You can also sign up for pony rides for the kids, or horseback riding for adults. As you enter the yard, watch out for low-flying peacocks. They love to fly down from the gift store roof. There's a huge yard full of Pygmy Goats, and you can go inside to feed them. One hint: DON'T BRING THE FOOD INSIDE! There's a cup holder on the fence so you don't get overrun by the goats. They're small, but determined little things. You can also go inside the Deer Pen, but tuck in your shirt and take off your hat, or they'll start munching. You'll also see a kangaroo, zebra, pot-bellied pigs, zonkeys (yes, Zonkeys), reindeer, elk, Highland cattle, Watusi (there really IS such a thing!), miniature horses, a huge Belgian horse, a Fjord horse, donkeys, emu, camel, and a couple other critters. Even if you buy the large feed cup, you'll be getting a refill halfway through. It's tough to ration out the food when they're all so cute. I asked a question of the young man who was putting out hay for the animals and expected a short answer since he was busy. He gave me tons of information about the animals, his knowledge was quite impressive. I also met one of the owners, and she was a wonderful lady. I can tell she loves each and every one of the animals. This was our second trip to the Deer Farm, and we were not disappointed.
