Owner description: From our fresh cut orchard, we produce apple-based wine blended with other fruits, including grapes. Located on the banks of the Little Pigeon River in the Apple Barn Village, the Apple Barn Winery is next door to the world-famous Apple Barn General Store & Cider Mill, two great restaurants, a bakery, a candy store, an ice cream shop, and a Christmas shop. The Apple Barn Winery offers a unique twist on wine. Our wine is hand crafted in small lots on the farm to provide each customer the best possible wine from local fruit. Open daily for tasting and sales, our family oriented staff would love for you to stop by. Even if you are not a “wine connoisseur”, you will still take pleasure in browsing our gift shop full of unique items as well as wine accessories. Our video tour is a wonderful educational experience that provides the opportunity to learn more about the winemaker’s art.

The winery was very nice with a large selection of wine accessories. The staff was unique :) talked with us like we were old friends which was nice but also seemed to be bothered by our kids. We were not out at a bar drinking just passing through and wanted to stop in with our kids that played around some but were not too bad at all. The Apple Raspberry was the best wine we tasted all day, delicious!!

Our server, Jenny, was knowledgable on all the wines and more than patient while I took forever to decide on my final choices. If you like sweet- I recommend The Applewood White.

our server Jenny was rude and appeared to have better things to do then wait on us. she was always walking off and never told us anything about the wines. when she asked us what we wanted to try my group suggested we start at the top and work our way down the list and choose the ones we wanted her reply was "we don't suggest you try them all and it is not my job to get you drunk" we didn't want to get drunk we just wanted to try your wines. it would have also been nice to have crackers that weren't pick up off the counter that were left from the last customer and thrown back into the bowl to try in between the wines but when we asked jenny for fresh crackers she told us "there fine people will eat them" not to mention the glasses were dirty and when we requested a clean one we were told "they were usable". Jenny continued to be rude through out our visit by ignoring us, paying more attention to the other staff members and what they were doing, and making sarcastic uncalled remarks during the whole time we were there.

Beware make this you LAST stop on the wine trail so you can get your free gift (which we had to ask for several times) and get out. the other wineries are so much better don't waste your time here.

This was our third stop on the Rocky top wine trail and the server couldn't have been less interesting. We felt as if we were inconveniencing her. She seemed as tho she was surprised that we wanted to taste the wines. We were given no information about them and just asked us " anything else". And honestly we only found one wine in which we liked there in which we didn't buy only because of the rudeness of the staff. Besides there are plenty of other good wines on the trail. All the others were very friendly and all around better.
