Nothing fancy here, but great southern style cooking. The lunch buffet is great, and if you have a bit of time to wait, (Not fast-food.) then you need to try their catfish. The servings are huge, and the prices unbeatable. If you want "atmosphere" it isn't here, but you won't pay for it either. Just a diner type of setting and he staff is always friendly.

It was a very cute and quaint restaurant that has great service from a very friendly and sweet waitress. The food was delicious. My husband had the chicken tenders and homemade chili. The chess pie was amazing, as well.

While traveling enroute to Huntsville, AL., searched internet and found ads for "The Landing" restaurant just off US 70S, Rock Island, TN. Located in a gas station/convenience store...dont let the location deter you from a visit. Had primarily local, country foods including a lunch bar. You can order off the menu or get a meat and three (sides) plate served from the hot bar. Meats included meat loaf, ribs, pork steak and wings as well as a number of hot veggies/sides. Decided on pork steak, potatoes/gravy, turnip greens, green beans and corn bread/hot corn bread. Greens were tender, well seasoned, and no hint of toughness/chewiness or bitter ness. The corn bread and hot cornbread were both hot and moist....enjoyed the cheese and pepper spiced corn bread most. Pork steak of breaded, fried, moist and tender. Mashed potatoes/gravy and beans were tasty and well seasoned. Will stop on subsequent trips when travelling along that route.

This little restaurant is quaint and out of the way from the hustle and bustle of the cities around.
