This is a landmark. Bento has ran this place forever and knows the people. The restaurant has good home cooking.

Stopped here after our hike and had a very nice lunch. I had the catfish supper, the 11 year old with us ate a cheeseburger and FF. My son had a pork sandwich. We all thought the food was very good and very reasonable in price.

We visited Rock Island Market for lunch with friends while visiting during the total eclipse. The place is cute and the waitress was quite knowledgeable about the menu. My wife asked some questions about milk products (which she must avoid) and what our waitress didn't know off the top of her head she went and found out.

Of our four meals, two were noteworthy. The fried cod was delicious and not greasy at all. Sliced tomatoes and a crisp fresh salad were delicious. The hush puppies were enough to share (4). On the other hand, the chicken fried steak sandwich has a "fishy" taste as the oil must nit have been fresh. Strangely, the fired onions rings tasted great! Go figure.

I wish we had saved space for pie.
