This location is easy to find and a great place to stop when traveling north on I-75. My first impression was that the room was very clean. My second impression was that everything in the room had been there since 1983. The TV was old produced a terrible picture and the mattress has definitely seen better days. Considering the price of the room and the fact that we were in it for a grand total of 10 hours or so, these are things that I can live with. If you need a quick pit stop this place is great depending on the price you book, but I would not recommend it for longer than one night or if you are traveling with children.

We stayed here on our way back from NC. While we usually do not stop when we do the drive, this weekend was a bit different as Notre Dame played USC at 8pm and, as avid fans, we NEEDED to watch the game as ND is #1 and only USC stood between the Mighty Irish and BCS Championship game (and hopefully a little trophy called Heisman for one special Manti).

We new the general area where we wanted to stay and stopped at a rest area along I-40 and picked up those travel motel magazines. Using the internet enabled phones and calling, we got a great deal for a Saturday night via the phone.

We were in room 205 (back, upper) which has a king sized bed, sofa bed, microwave, fridge, armchair, desk, desk chair (fixed with clear packing tape), dresser (more like a high coffee table with two drawers where the bedding for the sofa bed was located), and two bedside tables.

The toilet was one of those annoying low flush jobs (hold the handle until everything makes it all the way down) but the shower was nice and hot and had a massaging head. The king sized bed was fairly comfortable (even with a toddler who woke up in the middle of the night and wanted snuggles (aka shove me off the bed while dad slept, unaware).

The toddler loved talking to himself in the full length mirror and playing with the safe (apparently his most precious items were the puff cup, a car, and unused tissues) and the phone (I am glad that we are not germaphobes in our house).

The TV worked wonderful and allowed us to watch ND have a glorious game! The hotel is right next door to a Shoney's with a Waffle House, and a fast food restaurant nearby but if you go under the overpass, Aubrey's is a fantastic restaurant.

TIP: Powell has a great community little kid water park if you have an antsy one in the car. We used it on a prior trip when the antsy got the better of the toddler and we were desperate for him to sleep.

Room Tip: Rooms in the back are next to a field and not on the same side as the pool

Room clean overall. A tad mildewy in the bathroom, but had retro heat lamp (score). Heater worked well. Beds adiquiet. Shower warm and pressure good. Quiet room. Picked up Chinese at China Jaing up the road. Breakfast buffet at Shoneys a must.

A block of rooms were reserved for our football team. I personally reserved 4 of the rooms for family. The sheets were stained and the blankets were so thin you could see through them. Luckily we took our own sheets and pillows. I checked for bugs but didn't see any. When we took a shower in the morning the water was lukewarm. The staff was unfriendly and not very helpful with our issues. The fridge was dirty and warm and the microwave didn't work properly. Next time I'll spend the extra money and go to a reputable establishment.

Room Tip: If you MUST stay here get a room on the upper floor. On the bottom floor you can hear movement in th...

Room was filthy. Wall behind the toilet was bowed, peeled, and mold was present. Laminate furniture had chunks missing exposing the particle board. Sheets had a cigarette burn at the foot hidden.
