Back again for our 7th visit to Sherwood Forest Resort. Had a great time relaxing in our cabin. It was very clean, the Hot Tub was great and the view was Fantastic.
We have stayed at 5 different cabins. This was our 2 time at this one. Which is my favorite (hard to find it vacant). Stayed 5 nights this time. The weather was good the first 2 days then the rain and wind came. That wind was an experience. Thought we were going to get blown off the mountain. It was a little scary.
One evening we had a big surprise. Had cooked steaks on the grill and just sat down to eat when we heard our garbage can outside making a noise. First thought it was the staff picking up our garbage but it kept making noises, so my Husband opened the door to see what was going on and to his surprise there was a Bear. It had gotten into the locked can. Got several pictures. Glad I had my video camera.
Just wanted everyone to know in the 7 visits we have had at Sherwood we have never had any problems with the cabins. The staff has always been kind and helpful.
We are planning our next visit which will be in Aug. and again in Nov. for our 40th Anniversary. Love it here.

We stayed at " A Perfect Day" cabin and I have to say that was the best vacation we ever had. The cabin is so beautiful, the view is spectacular, very clean, the kitchen has everything you need, what else can I say. One of the ladies in the office her name is Miranda was very nice and very friendly with us,we didn't know that the fire place in the master bedroom had remote control and when we called the office to let them know, somebody was there in less than 10 minutes to explain to us how that work. The only thing that I did not like was that the people that were on the cabin above us were very loud they were making noise and talking loud until almost 2:00 o'clock in the morning for three nights in a row. But besides that we are planing on coming back on summer. I will recomend Sherwood Resort to my friends with my eyes closed.

Wow! What a beautiful cabin! There was so much room and we felt right at home. There were seven of us, and you could easily have privacy.

Some quick points:
The cabin was spotless
The furniture was high quality and comfy.
The linens were clean, soft and smelled of fresh laundry
There were PLENTY of kitchenware, utensils. Everything you needed!
The Media Room was AWESOME. The kids loved it and stayed up late watching scary movies and did not bother us.
The view! Breathtaking!
The location. Close to everything, just about across the street from Dollywood.

Had a wonderul relaxing stay! It was romantic and it sat above all the other cabins so we had plenty of privacy. We LOVED our stay and already planning on returning this fall. The only thing was the drive way was a bit tricky, the dishes wasnt cleaned and our cable wasn't working. The staff was very helpful was our needs and sent someone right away to help us. The guy that came to look things over was super nice as well. We stayed from Sunday-Friday and never felt unsafe or as if we didnt matter. The resort is right on the edge of town so its very easy to go to either towns.

I just got back home from visiting the "Smokies" and stayed at the Sherwood Forest Resort cabin, "Majestic Horizon". Overall, the stay was actually pretty decent. Upon arrival, I was able to check in around 2:50pm and the staff was relaxed, friendly, and welcoming. Once getting into the cabin, we did a run throw to make sure everything was in our liking. We didn't appreciate finding condom wrappers, tums, and halls cough drops in the nightstand by the bed or the dirty dishes placed in the cabinets. Also, we didn't pay CLOSE attention to the details of the cabin and thought our hot tub would have a mountain view (It does not, but also is kinda shown in the pictures on website--our fault). Being picky, there was hardly any arm space for the pool table upstairs. Again, the overall stay was nice. I believe our cabin, "Majestic Horizon" is one of the best Sherwood has to offer, if not, THEE best (1bedroom, anyways). As the pictures I posted look, you are not secluded, however, "Majestic Horizon" only has one close neighbor which is still roughly 30 yards away.

To be fair about the stay, we DID like it so much we asked to stay an additional day which the staff was nice enough to give a hefty discount on (granted it was Sunday, but still).

The view is wonderful (pictures), the bed is comfy, the placement of the cabin is amazing, Kitchen is huge, and the table and chairs on the balcony can be for a cute romantic night with the view. All these are reasons why I will recommend this CABIN (not necessarily any other one) to my friends, family, and whoever else i come across going to visit the area.

Also, the resort is 2-3 minutes from Pigeon Forge and about 6-7 minutes from Gatlinburg. It's positioned wonderfully in the area.

Again, stay in Majestic Horizon! Except the dates I'll be back to visit. ;)

Business must be going really well because they DO NOT care about treating customers right to ensure repeat clients. We stayed on Valentine’s Day weekend and it was (obviously) cold out, so the part of the cabin we were most excited about was relaxing in the hot tub. Well that didn’t happen. The hot tub was at 65 degrees when we arrived, climbed about 2 degrees by the end of Friday night, got to 86 degrees by Saturday night (which is still far too cold to enjoy), and finally warmed up to 100 degrees (almost ideal) by Sunday morning when it was time for us to check out. I called to address this issue Friday evening, about 7:00, and they said there was nothing they could do at that time. They then sent maintenance Saturday morning, which didn’t help much, so I called again Saturday explaining that we had already missed out on one night of enjoying the hot tub and were unhappy, and they didn’t want to do anything to make it right. I stopped in on Sunday morning as I was checking out, and explained the situation and our unhappiness to the manager. She very coldly stated “We cannot guarantee any of the accommodations, which includes the hot tub” and would not agree to offer any discounts (because we already had a 10% off-season discount, woopty-doo) or anything else to make us happy. After all this, they had the nerve to send me a “thank you” email and ask that we stay there again when in the area. NOT. There are plenty of other cabins to stay at.

Our rooms were great! The view was spectacular. The porch with the rocking chairs and hot tub was the best. The morning and evening views were beautiful. Planning to go back again!
