We just returned from a four night stay at Laurel Crest in Pigeon Forge and we enjoyed our stay very much. Our accomodations consisted of a Two Bedroom/Two bath suite villa. The rooms were very clean. A few drawbacks are the sofa/beds are very unconfortable so I called the front desk for an foam cushion which helped a bit. We had six people in our party including my in-laws and we all were impressed with the friendly staff and their willingness to accomodate all our needs. A broken toaster was replaced within 10 minute of my phone call. In contrast to several negative reviews that almost scared me away from this resort, I did not see or feel any roaches run across my face, had no problem doing our laundrey, and found it very easy to exchange our towels for clean ones. My two kids enjoyed the two outdoor pools and the indoor pool that many times we had to ourselves for hours. The insulation could be a little thicker because noises from the occupants above us could be heard. As far as being approached by sale representatives, we were called before we even got down thier for a membership update in which we agreed to. The meeting lasted sixty minutes and we recieved two dollywood tickets, an $85.00 value. For those reviewers who find this inconvenient I guess you'll just have to learn to say no. I would definitely recommend this resort. Just call early enough ahead of time to ensure yoursself the size accomodations that you would like. I personally wouldn't recommend the One bedroom/One bath villa for four people. Get a Two bedroom if your family requires more room.

we stayed at laurel crest for seven nights in july, we are a family of 4, kids are 3 and 11 we stayed in a one bedroom deluxe which had plenty of room for us it was kind of out dated but still nice enough to stay in, the resort has 2 very nice outdoor pools with hot tubs located next to them it has one very nice indoor pool with a kiddie pool next to it located in the club house at the resort anyways about the room when we arrived the room had coffee spilled on one of the end tables,it wasnt bad enough to call house keeping to come clean it up we wiped it up ourselfs other than that it was clean ,the staff were very friendly they go out of their way for guest we stayed 7 night and when we were suppose to leave my daughter ended up getting sick with a high temp so we called the resort to see if they had opening for the eighth night they said they had a studio across the reort somewhere so we were ok with it,then they called back about 5 minutes later and told us they got us a 1 bedroom standard unit one door down from us and they had house keeping in it cleaning as fast as they could so we could get in it by 11 am checkout is at 10am and check in is at 4pm but they got us in by 11am,that just made our day and a standard is a lot smaller than a deluxe one bedroom but i could deal with it if had to for a week anyhow we went to pay for it the next day and they said we dont owe them anything ,thanks laurel crest and yes we would stay there again with no worries its a all around great resort

We spent 7 days at Laurel Crest the first week of August 2005. We got off to a shaky start in that they did not have the reservation in our name and then had no room types available that we had traded for. We complained at check-in and they said that if a room of the type that we had booked became available they would call us to move. We then called Interval(who we had traded with) and they contacted the front desk and told us that they would move us as soon as something became available. We got a call with 48 hours and we moved. We started out in a standard 1 bedroom and then moved to the deluxe 1 bedroom. The standard is bareable if you have small kids, which we do. But the deluxe is much nicer. The front desk says that they are about the same. Nice try, but we didn't believe that one.

The rooms are a bit on the older side. Both rooms that we had were very clean and had everything that we needed. The two outdoors pools are nice. They are small and I see where there could be trouble with too many people, but we did not see that. The staff was very nice and there were alot of free on-property activities. We were also never contacted for a timeshare presentation, which made for the perfect vacation.

Pigeon Forge is a great area. We think location-wise Pigeon Forge is better than Gatlinburg. We had a wonderful family vacation. We would definetly go back to this resort and this area.

The room was so small, you had to move the "kitchen table" to pull out the sofa bed. The so-called kitchen table was a TINY round table that had to be pushed into the corner and up against the wall to pull out this sofa bed. With the sofa bed pulled out, you can't walk around the living room. The mattress was so flimsy and the springs so uncomfortable, I notified the front desk. Apparently this is a very common complaint because they immediately offered an "egg crate", a foam cushion, another flimsy excuse for a bed. With the egg crate on the sofa bed, you cannot close the sofa bed, hence you cannot use the microscopic-sized kitchen table.

My daughter and I couldn't wash the shampoo out of our hair because of the low-flow showerhead and low water pressure. There was no place in the shower to put your toiletries. Poor lighting as well. No one told us that if you want clean bath towels, you have to go to a laundry center and they will "swap" towels. Someone happened to mention it to us in passing. Otherwise you are expected to wash your own---there is no maid/housekeeping service available at all. Would have been nice for that to have been mentioned in their "fun pack" given at your arrival. (There is nothing in the fun pack except phone numbers, phone information--look out for those charges-- and an activity sheet.)

There were no washers/dryers in any unit on the property, but the staff boasted they are free---if you want to share the few they do have with every other guest waiting to use them, shlep your laundry down there and wait for it.

Two of our pillows were stained, the bedding on the one bed was ripped. All bedding was of poor quality.

The only mirror in the entire unit is located in the bathroom.

When the air conditioning/heating unit kicks on/off, it is very loud---we kept the fan on constantly so it wouldn't wake us up at night.

They have two small outside pools and one small inside pool, way too small to accommodate all the units at this property.

After numerous trips to the front desk, they offered to switch us to another room. It had the same awful sofa bed. The manager told us every unit has the same kind.

Then there is the sales presentation to get you to buy a timeshare there. What a joke. Even our sales rep said this is BlueGreen Company's worst property and that the rooms were "cracker boxes." She was right on both counts. We ended up leaving there.....

We just returned from a four night stay at Laurel Crest Resort and only wished we could have stayed longer. We are sampler members of Bluegreen and we were a bit worried after reading some reviews from this site. You should note that in order to get the rooms that are shown in the pictures, you need to reserve either one of the Deluxe Villas or the Townhomes. They cost more points, but are well worth it, with much more space, a more deluxe jacuzzi tub, bigger balcony, full size kitchen, etc. There were two heated outdoor pools and one indoor. There was also an indoor kiddie pool and two outdoor hot tubs. Our family tried them all and they all were clean and spacious. They also supply fresh pool towels, so you don't need to bring your own. Activities for all ages were scheduled for the week. Our children participated in the Kid's Craft class where they had a wonderful time and received lots of attention and even snacks while making their own souveniers. The complimentary laundry facilities were a nice ammenity (no searching for quarters). The view of the mountains from our Villa was beautiful. As other reviewers mentioned, however, you will receive at least a few calls from the sales office of the resort during your stay and they will try to mislead you into another timeshare presentation with promises of free gifts and tickets if you stop in to "review your account". Don't fall for it unless you have lots of time to spare and know what your signing up for! Other than that...all was great at Laurel Crest!
