since we dont own the timeshare but were staying courtesy of someone else, cant complain too much, Bathroom was small, Kitchen was small, living room was small, they call it a villa and it is misleading. Overall for a place to sleep though not bad. Wi-fi cost per day which is really awful considering what people do pay for the timeshare, Room looks outdated

Laurel Crest has obviously matured from some of the reviews I have read on this site. It was comfortable and clean, well keep flower beds and very kind and courteous employees. We stayed in a "double" room that had a King size bed in our room and the 3 Kids stayed in the other room splitting the double bed and the couch bed.
Our King size bed was comfortable, so that was a load off our mind (I mean who needs to have a bad week of sleep on vacation). We stayed in building 6 that overlooked one of the three pools. Pros: we were close to the pool, Cons: the pool doesn't close until 11.
There is a Kroger grocery store about a mile up the road, and just another half mile to the Parkway. It has that 'close enough, but far enough' feel relative to the activities of Pigeon Forge.
This is a time share property, it is also inhabited year round by new comers on vacation so don't expect peace and quiet all of the time. My wall at home are not sound proof, neither is Laurel Crests (not a complaint, it is just a reality folks).
My only real complaint is that the TV's in the rooms are attached to something called LodgeNet (read big scam). The movies range from $10-30 to rent, and not adult movies people, kids stuff mostly. The complaint is that it charges any "purchases" to your account with out any password or credit card info. If you have a 6 year old that wakes up before you do and wants to watch Yogi Bear at 5:30 in the morning at $15 a pop, you better hide the remote, or you will be fairly upset when you go to check out from your relaxing vacation. The clerk told me that one kid rung his parents up with $170 worth of "rentals" without their knowledge.

Other than this snag, we had a great experience with the folks at Laurel Crest.

My friends and I stayed here Memorial Day weekend. We were the first to stay in a newly renovated one bedroom condo. It was very clean and spacious. The pull-out couch mattress was even comfortable, and I have never been anywhere that I could say that. The grounds were well kept and the pool area was cleaned every morning. We had a fourth floor room overlooking the front of Laurel Crest and a spectacular view of the mountains. The balcony was one of our favorite spots. The only negative thing I have to say about Laurel Crest would be that they need more than one outdoor pool or maybe consider a curfew for children an hour or so before closing so it's just adults.

Room Tip: Ask for front condos. It's closer to pool.

We visited Laurel Crest Resort for a 3 days/2 nights stay for a good rate. We knew we would be going thru the time share sales presentation. What we didn't expect was that the "resort" was anything but. The furniture was cheap and scarred. There was one ice machine on the whole property. One computer with internet was available in the lobby but was in use when we tried to use it briefly. There wasn't any type of dining facilities on the grounds. There wasn't any daily cleaning service.
The large noisy trash truck came at 5 am on Friday morning and again at 5 am on Saturday morning to dump the trash bins. There wasn't enough people there to generate enough trash to be awaken so early on both days!
Good points-The hot tub which was located outside was hot. There was an indoor pool (which was too cool for me but okay for others).
We had visited a Westgate resort before in the Orlando area, That was a RESORT!
We could have rented a NEW hotel room for $25 + tax on the main street in Pigeon Forge as this is the winter off-season.

My family stayed at Laurel Crest following a stay at Bluegreen's Mountainloft Resort in Pigeon Forge. Laurel Crest Resort was nice, the stay was friendly, and the pool's were nice, but it was not as nice as Mountainloft. For the same price, and only about 10 minutes away, Mountainloft is a much better option (better staff, much better views, nicer rooms, washer/dryer in rooms, cleaner rooms, etc.)

We found our room to be nice, but not as clean as I would have liked. Also, we were told there were washers and dryers in the rooms but there were not. The full kitchen was nice, as was the jacuzzi tub. The view was nothing extra at all. The staff were friendly, but not what I have come to expect at a resort of this calibur. Parking was decent, and the pools were average.

There was a problem with the internet while we were there, and we called the front desk several times and no one answered. When we finally got someone, they weren't able to offer us any help. I was unimpressed by the customer service at this resort.

Internet is only available if you pay a fee. You also have to pay for each day you want it. I think it was $6.95 per day. Also, we had three laptops, and it was $6.95 per day for EACH laptop, so it got to be expensive. In my opinion, at this price point, internet should be included for free.

There's a lot to do in the area. Overall, this is a decent resort, but if you have the option to stay at Mountainloft resort by Bluegreen, it's a much nicer resort in my opinion. When we went they were the same price.

As many previous reviews indicate, the queen size bed in the "master bedroom" is not even supporting one person, impossible for two to sleep, even if no comfort is expected. The bedroom is so small that only one night stand is offered and the cabinet drawers are too small (square) to hold a regularly folded shirt, sweater etc.

The pull-out couch is not the worst quality we have experienced, but when pulled out does not allow to move around in the living/dining room. We can not imagine how four adults, for what the unit is rated, could be comfortable in that unit.

Yes the employees are friendly and helpful, and the unit was clean, the kitchen in the hallway that is already narrow is reasonably well equipped, but why would anyone want to cook in such small space.

A flier in the room asks to let management know if we could not give them the best rating to RCI, but how do you improve a mediocre sleeping situation or make dividing walls (between units) more soundproof while you are staying therey?

The real issue that these units are selling as Timeshares (no idea for how much), but compared to timeshare units we own, this is clearly the smallest and least comfortable we have ever stayed at. Timeshares are supposed to offer comfort superior to a chain motel. Also to pay ATT over $6 per day to get internet access is hard to swallow, given that your time share unit is supposed to be your home away from home.

We would give preference to a Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Marriott Courtyard and similar anytime.

After reading the reviews we were actually scared to go and waste our week at Laurel Crest so we called ahead and told RCI and the Laurel Crest Office we want a Deluxe room (like someone wrote we should) and we most certainly aren't looking forward to this resort if it's like they say on the Reviews. Well, let me tell you - THOSE REVIEWS ARE AS FALSE AS THEY CAN BE! The staff is great, very efficient & helpful. The unit itself was clean (no bugs, like they said) and the beds were soooooo comfortable - where did 'they' ever get the idea the beds were lumpy, sagging and all the rest? Why do they want to spread such false rumors? Why would anyone want to lie about Laurel Crest? We're planning to go back sometime! The location is perfect also - couldn't ask for better! Please don't listen to the negatives - NOT TRUE......I'll give them an A+ any day and others we talked to that week felt like we do.....they were busy, full and we were glad - doesn't that speak for itself? If anyone is wondering (like we did) if they should go here, plan to go - it's great! Trust me, you'll love it....sorry we didn't take pictures! Next time though.....:) "Thanks to a wonderful staff - you were great!" And we said 'No' to a sales meeting and that was it - no tele. call later - they did not keep 'bugging' us - thanks to that also - we appreciated that consideration! We can recommend Laurel Crest to our friends any day!
