Our family has the Old Mills Restaurant on our Must visit list every time we are in the area. Always liked it but this time it was just not that good. I always get the fried chicken which is So expensive at almost $19/meal and they could certainly cut this cost down by the type and quantity of chicken you get. The only choice is a 3-breast chicken meal. No lesser quantity or pieces. Who can eat 3 pieces of chicken breast? And if you are out of town and no way to refrigerate it you end up leaving 1 or 2 pieces to waste. There is a lot of other food courses but i wish they changed the way chicken is served. Additionally, the chicken this past weekend was not that good either. The crust seemed like frozen Banquet chicken crust and the meat was so tough. I noticed one commonality in each trip before and this weekend.. the waiters are so over worked and i cannot say exceptionally friendly and they always just run from table to table and cannot stop if you ask a question but answering very quick talk as they continue to walk past your table barely slowing down to hear what you say... That has been our experience most times there. When we asked our server how she was being friendly she told us she'd be a lot better at 9:30 when she got off work and made several other comments about not wanting to be there. My sister-in-law got several refills without asking for it (she had water) and the server came by with a water pitcher but i did not get a refill i guess because it was not in a pitcher and too busy to go the place where she'd get it. My daughter had a hamburger and i had the chicken dinner and our bill was almost $60 with tip. that was really outrageous when we had to leave so much food behind and next time in the area we will try a different place i think. I really had to sell my sister-in-law on eating there with the wait as she'd never been there so i felt really had at the high prices and so forth and she was not impressed and said on the way out that for the price she though the kids would have enjoyed the Pizza place down the street better.

Oh my word...if you have to wait, it's worth it. For one price you get appetizers (fritters), a salad, your entree meal, and a dessert. Best of luck to you to eat it all. It's very good and service very fast. The pot roast serving was massive as well as the meatloaf...we couldn't eat it all!

Went for lunch. Party of 16 adults. Put our name on the list a few minutes before noon and when our whole party met they seated us right away! 2 round tables. Fine for us. The food was bountiful, everything from hamburgers to turkey w/dressing. Pecan pie was the best!!! Our waitress was good with both of our tables. A bit noisy and crowded later on. The cash register should be placed differently. But all in all, a nice family place. Cute little gift shop next door.

Good food! Service is hit or miss. We ate there twice for dinner. The first time the waiter was spectacular. The second time the waitress was trying to be funny, but it was coming off as border-line rude. The food portions are really good after a full day of hiking, shopping, & white water rafting. It gives you the home cooked warm & fuzzy feeling. The host both nights was courteous & had a polite greeting. I would recommend for the comfort food and hopefully the service will be up to par.

We arrived around 3:45 after a long day at Dollywood. We were very hungry and got right in. Our waiter was absolutely wonderful, he made sure to keep our sweet tea coming. Our boys loved the corn chowder and corn fritters. We all ordered something different and each of us was more than pleased. We will definitely be returning here on our next trip to the area.
