Owner description: Come Ride the Hill and Feel the Thrill! The Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster is the longest downhill ride in the United States, with over 1 mile of track. So if you are looking for an unforgettable experience in your vacation here in the Great Smoky mountains, this is a must do! The vehicles are designed to carry two visitors in comfort but can be handled easily by one alone. The riders are in control of the velocity (up to 27 mph) and this gives them a unique hands-on experience! Rain, snow or sunshine, no problem - the excellent braking effect is unchanged so you can ride year-round! Tickets and packages are now available, age restrictions may apply, parents may need to ride with small children. Our track has thousands of colored LED lights so you can experience our awesome Night Rides! The great "Über Ride" is HERE!

“Awesome ride down”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2014

My girls found the Alpine Coaster on Trip Advisor prior to visiting Pigeon Forge. It was all that they were really requesting while in town so we did it!. I had no idea this would turn out to be a mini roller coaster. LOL The ride up was scenic and it was great for the building anticipation. But the ride down was CRAZY! It was faster than I expected even though I have read the website well. It was exciting, fun, and beautiful to view the scenery from above. Both of my girl rode alone (ages 10-12) but they are slight daredevils. It was a great experience!! Would definitely recommend it!

“Do not use brake!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2014

If you remember to NOT use the brake you will have a ball!!!! If you brake you mess it up for everyone behind you. You must do this while in the area. Line can look long but my son timed it from where we were anout 25 feet beyond were the white canopy is and it only took 35 minutes we thought it would be an hour. They need a sign or two that says from this point your approx. wait time is..... This is one of the coolest things we did on our vacation this year.

“Just ok!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2014

Not worth the $15.00 they charge to go down the mountain...if it was $5.00 I would rate it as excellent. The views going up the mountain were very pretty, but if you like thrill rides, this really is not for you. However I guess I can say I rode down a real mountain on a roller-coaster. Save your $15.00 towards your admission to Dollywood and ride the coaster(s) there! The staff at Alpine coaster were however very friendly and nice!

“Can't wait to do it again!”

Our group was aged 6 to 60 and we all loved it! We will definitely make this attraction part of our next visit to Pigeon Forge. As a group, we got a nice discount, too.
