We enjoyed this attraction. You do get placed with other people (up to a total of 12 people per group), so be aware of that. We weren't sure if we would get to do it alone as a family. You could possibly be alone if you were the only ones there, I'm sure.
The puzzles are fun; but not everyone will necessarily be able to participate in every puzzle, as they are not all for that many people.
It is a teeny bit "scary" - especially for small children - but definitely not too much for older kids. (Nor for any braver little one.)
The only thing we found difficult was sometimes understanding the "pharaoh" voice-over. Sometimes we found ourselves asking each other what was said.
I would recommend this for any family looking for something different and interactive in Pigeon Forge.
