“Best Ever!”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

This made our third time and this time I think it was better than ever. I got the "shrimp and grits" and it was to die for! We will definitely visit again on our next trip to Pigeon Forge. There is a beautiful garden outside with tables if the weather is just right. That night it was a little cool so we opted to eat indoors.

“Good lunch spot”
Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

Stopped for lunch after a morning hike in the smokie mnts. There were four in are group. The French onion soup and cream of broccoli and cheese where very good. The loaded baked potatoe was a bit bland for our taste. The sandwiches are made on fresh homemade bread and all liked them. They also have great deserts. And bread to go.

“Top spot in a tourist destination...”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

We had been to this restaurant a few years back and were not impressed except for the bakery section. At that time you had to order at a counter in the rear of the restaurant which tended to be somewhat confusing and the menu board was mainly sandwiches.

This time was a complete turn-a-around. It is a full service restaurant with a well trained staff and good management.

We started out with Tennessee Black Bean Twisters which were similar to six small egg rolls with an excellent filling of black bean puree and cheese. They were served with a spicy Ranch Dressing that was a perfect contrast to the of mild flavors of the fillings.

The wife went with the Spring Chicken Gumbo and declared it a winner. I would not think of a gumbo with a creamy grits base, but this worked. Included sides were a jalapeno Hoe cake and fresh fruit. The serving was large enough for two and at a $8.49 price tag, a nice bargain.

I tried the Carolina Pulled Pork Barbeque sandwich served with steak fries and cold slaw. It was not my favorite version of this dish, but was acceptable.

Service by Alexsis was prompt and efficient. She even brought extra take home containers so the meals would not "flow" together. Not that our pets really care, but the thought was nice.

As other reviewers have stated, the grounds are beautiful with fresh flowers abounding throughout the restaurant and surrounding gardens. Outside dining is available in the garden, but your can't have beer or wine in that area due to the local "blue sky" laws. That is a shame, but we are in God fearing Tennessee.

“A Great Restaurant”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

If you love The Mill, you will certainly like The Pottery House when you are looking for something more contemporary or not the meat and two you get at The Mill. The feeling and food at The Pottery House are different from its counterpart across the street and that's just fine. If you want soup and salad or something a little different, The Pottery House is perfect!
