The cheapest bucket is $35, but the girls found many more gems than in other places we've been. The gems and minerals are all buried in buckets of sand. You're given a hand shovel to scoop the sand into wire-mesh-bottom boxes, then swish in the water to rinse away the sand, leaving the "goodies" behind. Afterwards, you go inside and sit down at a small counter and have your "goodies" identified. Our Tri-Gem Bucket yielded many rubies, emeralds, sapphires, topaz, and more! Inside a smorgasbord of gems and minerals can be found for sale.

This is a past time that I always enjoy doing. It is located right on the parkway and close to shopping places so you can stop and get in lots of activities at once. I recommend once you have finished mining that you go inside and let the staff tell you about the gems that you have found. Even if you don't buy anything this in interesting.

A friend and I split the $35 garnet and amethyst bucket. We were told we were guaranteed to have some in our bucket. Boy did we ever! Honestly we thought what we had looked like average rocks till we went in the store to have someone tell us what gems we actually had. This was a fun experience and then to have them made into jewelry - it will be a nice keep sake (jewelry ships within 3 to 4 weeks). Would recommend. Make sure to take what you mine into the store directly behind and they will tell you what type of stones you got.
