“BEST LOCATION IN PIGEON FORGE”
Reviewed September 18, 2012

if you are looking for an exceptionally nice vacation condo in the middle of pigeon forge this is the place
we have stayed in many condos before and this is by far the best yet
we enjoyed sitting on the patio overlooking the little pigeon river and this unit had a porch swing
the rooms were very clean and the beds very comfortable.
we also enjoyed the well maintained city walking trail along the river just behind the condo

We have stayed at Bear Crossing 101 several times now. It always feels like home! Beautifully decorated, beautiful views with a calming stream that runs directly behind the units. Great location, accesible to everything, yet very quiet and serene. These fully equipped units are sure to make your family comfortable. I know mine sure is everytime we visit!

These spacious, fully equipped condos are wonderful for a family vacation! I have stayed here 5 times and each time they include different perks. This time, my grandson got free go-kart rides at 4 locations in Pigeon Forge, free DVD rentals and every day we got a free adult admission to one of the attractions. They also have good deals on the tickets they sell, such as 2 days at Dollywood for the price of one. The office staff is friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Room 301 has Wi-Fi. Apparently, not every room does, though they say they will soon.

Just returned from a 4-night stay at Bear Crossing Condos. Bear Crossing is in a great location in Pigeon Forge on Jake Thomas Rd.--easily accessed via Teaster Lane and you can avoid the traffic on the Parkway. New to us was the Pigeon Forge Riverwalk, a paved and well-lit walking/bike path on the opposite side of the river from Bear Crossing. It's a great place to work off the extra calories from too much indulgence of the many eateries along the Parkway! Just cross the bridge and take the opening to the path.

Each condo has an assigned covered parking spot, which is really nice if the weather isn't cooperating.

We rented condo #101--2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Overall, the condo was roomy, nicely furnished and clean. The owner had decorated for fall, which added a nice homey touch. Each bedroom featured a king-size bed, two nightstands with lamps, alarm clock, TV, DVD player and ceiling fan. The master bedroom also had a jacuzzi and mirrored double sliding doors to the closet. While the master had a full dresser and mirror, the guest bedroom had only a chest of drawers and a single-door closet.

The living room, dining table and kitchen were arranged in an open style. The living room featured a gas log fireplace, wide-screen HD TV, DVD player and a nice sofa and 2 chairs. Since the temperature was in the 80's during the days and the nights weren't cool while we were in PF, we didn't use the fireplace.

The kitchen was fully equipped with full-size appliances: electric range, refrigerator with icemaker and dishwasher. It was suprisingly furnished with paper towels, dishwasher detergent and liquid dish soap. There was plenty of counter space for preparing picnic lunches and meals. We had enough dishes, pots and pans, glasses and silverware to use without having to wash each piece immediately when it was used. Small electric appliances included a toaster, handmixer and blender.

The piece de resistance is the balcony that overlooks the Little Pigeon River! Our balcony had a full dinette set and 2 lounge chairs and we still had room to move around. Some of the many duck residents like to visit the grassy bank between the condos and the river. Some of them will even "announce" their arrival!

Check-in and out was easy, and the office staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. The two ladies I met were glad to help me search for discounts for restaurants and attractions.

My complaints about Bear Crossing: 1. the office is not staffed full time. If you need anything after 4 PM, you have to call their main office. This also means there is no supervision during the evening/nights. 2. My biggest complaint: the beds are TERRIBLE! If you like sleeping on a rock-solid board for a bed, you'll like them. If not, you'll have trouble sleeping. Because Pigeon Forge is pedestrian friendly, we walked a lot, and by evening we were tired and ready to sleep. Sleep did not come easily because of the lack of comfortable bedding. I understand that firmer beds should hold up longer, especially for rental properties. While our beds at home aren't sink-in-the-middle soft, the beds at the condo were extremely firm. If we stay at this property again, I will definitely consider taking/getting a topper for the mattress. 3. Every time the person in the condo one floor above ran water, flushed the commode, took a shower, etc., we could hear the water running through the plumbing in our unit. 4. Upon departure, the renter is expected to empty the trash cans in the condo and take the trashbags to the dumpster. To my way of thinking, this should be part of housekeeping's duties.

We didn't use the outdoor pool, but it appeared to be rather small. There were lounge chairs and a table with chairs available around the pool area. The property does not have a playground for children, but you have plenty of attractions in PF to amuse them.

I would have liked to rate the condo higher, but the uncomfortable beds kept me from giving it a higher rating.

This was the third condo we've rented from Resort Property Management, having previously stayed at Whispering Pines and Cedar Lodge. I would recommend their condo properties; we have not stayed at one of the motels they manage.

Room Tip: The website has a nice feature to view the individual condos. Our condo was as appeared on the webs...

Good Afternoon, I just wanted to respond to this review (I know this is a bit late).. But we do take all reviews very seriously & have worked with our owners to address all issues.

Our owners have replaced the mattresses with pillow tops and/or something similar throughout the property to improve everyone's sleeping experience.

We also have changed our office hours to benefit all of our guests and walking traffic! We are here to be of service to people.

Also, we have added our Entertainment Rewards Pass: This is complimentary to all of our guests & this features: FREE Aquarium Tickets, FREE Country Tonite Tickets & Parkhopper Pass to Lazer Port Fun Center..& Unlimited DVD's! We hope that you stay with us again & appreciate your business!

My husband and I recently went on a vacation to Pigeon Forge. We stayed at the Bear Crossing Condos, for a couple nights. This place was hard to leave. Roomy, clean, reasonably priced. Nice, friendly people. They also arranged for us to visit the Titanic Exhibit, which is a must see, for any vacationer! Just had a great time!

This was our second year that we have stayed at Bear Crossing (Room 502). There were 5 of us total. We had a three bedroom three bath condo, we had so much room. The bedrooms were just as big (if not bigger than the ones back home). The double balcony was the nicest, there was plenty of room for everyone. We stopped by in 2007 and looked at one of the rooms, fell in love and rented it for 2008, and then again this year. The sounds from the river flowing at night, you can sleep like a baby!
