This was our first trip to Pigeon Forge. I wish I would of study the area more before going. You get caught up with the flashy lights on the main streets, lots of people, a bit much, a bit overwhelming. The national park was a bit overwhelming too. I felt a little lost on where to go, what to do. A lot of 'winging it'. Did go to Ober Gatlinberg. Lots of fun.
We stayed at 'Foot Hills Cabins" at the very end of Pigeon Forge. What a great find. It was up high on a moutain, away from crowds, clean cabins, pool and shower house. I felt safe and the owners made it a point to keep things visually appealing. Our cabin was only $45 a night ... no bathroom but that was okay... it was our version of roughing it.
Our favoriate place to eat was The Mill resturant - HUGE/yummy meal, over looks river, great food, staff and price. The second fav was the Mill Cafe across the street. Loved their beer cheese dip.
