“They work hard for your return business”

Pigeon Forge is not my ideal vacation destination - but it may be yours. The Inn on the River will go out of their way to ensure you are extremely satisfied. It is clean, moderately priced and lots of nice extra touches - popcorn, coffee and fruit in the lobby, good staffed breakfast buffet that gets replenished and cleaned up after unattended toddlers attack, etc. Cozy and warm lobby with game tables or a quiet place to sit next to the fire and read. Outdoor patio, nice pools (indoor and out). The staff gives the impression that whatever you ask, they'll deliver. One of those rare places that really care about the customer.

Room Tip: We had a room on the ground level facing the River. The heating unit was noisy - i am sure they wou...

This was our halfway point to pick up my grandson for a visit before Christmas. Loved the view from the river view rooms. We wished we would have brought our swim suits to play in the indoor pool, but maybe next time. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. Loved the coupon for our favorite local dinner show.

It had been a year since I stayed here, they have shown great improvements. They are still improving. There are new flatscreen T.V.'s new heating and cooling units in each room. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. The breakfast was great. The pool was warm and refreshing and the hot tub relaxing. The room was spacious and comfortable. I had a great stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

We stopped here for one night on our way home from Florida, based solely on the advice of the tripadvisor community. We were not disappointed! Front desk staff are courteous and helpful. The inside is appointed nicely. The pool area looks great. The parking area is well lit and feels safe. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and SPOTLESS!. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was HUGE and my wife was impressed by the high quality toiletries. Breakfast in the morning was outstanding...sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, etc. Really adds to the value of this place. They really try hard to make this the best place to stay in Pigeon Forge and it shows!

This is an old hotel that has good enough upkeep but you have no business staying here if you make more than $50k. Popcorn ceiling, old dated stained carpet, paper thin doors that let everything in, clientele over 350 pounds who just got done smoking and are about to jump on your kids in the old pool. Then there's the jet sounding window unit A/C guaranteed to minimize your sleep. If you live in a mobile home or are a backpacker used to sleeping on the ground, this is for you.

After a long drive and a late start departing Asheville that morning we were pleased that we had pre-booked a motel and had a clean comfortable bed for the night. Enroute we had done the climb at Clingman's Dome , viewed the magnificent scene of the sun setting over the mountains and captured the perfect postcard photos. We felt this was a comparatively expensive overnight stop for "large group, bus tour" style accommodation, although I am sure there are probably deals available that might have reduced this cost. I am not sure why we paid extra for a second floor balcony room. We had a view of the River ( and the highway) but it was not particularly impressive at this time of the year and some of the riverside paths appeared in need of repair. We had been guided by previous reviewers of accommodation in Pigeon Forge though in our selection and regarded it as part of our holiday experience. Pigeon Forge is such an "over the top" and commercialised destination bordering on a magnificent national park BUT we would still recommend the experience to others and were glad we saw the impressive Christmas lights as we drove through the main street. If you don't arrive at dark you would obviously miss this. The motel's location was great because we were able to walk next door to the Pear and Partridge Restaurant for dinner and browse through the other shops. It was some time before we realised that it was Christmas 365 days of the year at this venue! Our breakfast next morning was impersonal, self serve and such a contrast to the charm and elegance of the Asheville B and B the previous night and for a similar price! On this occasion we ate from disposables, chose our selection from dispensers and cooked our own waffles. Check in and check out staff were effecient, pleasant and accommodating.

Room Tip: A room further along from the highway might have had a little more river - side atmosphere.
