“Great trip for business and pleasure with nice accomodations!”
Reviewed October 12, 2010

Our 4 night, 5 day stay at MainStay Suites in Pigeon Forge Tennessee was very nice! The facility is kept very clean and the staff are very helpful/friendly. The breakfast in the morning that is complimentary is wonderful and helps start the day on the right foot! The indoor pool is perfect for cooler day, and the outdoor lazy river was great for the kids and myself when my husband was conducting business! The exercise room is a bit small, but serves its purpose. The facility is located beside a creek and there are ducks nearby to watch and feed which the kids also liked! Lots of parking was also nice. I would recommend this place for travel of business or pleasure!

I checked the reviews on this hotel before going and was apprehensive because some of the reviews were not good. But upon visiting, I found the hotel to be quiet, clean, very comfortable beds. Nothing looked worn or dirty. The breakfast bar was adequate, not the best, but certainly not the worst. The hotel is off the main highway with very little noise, great views. We attended a conference there and the conference facilities were good. One of our group had a problem with maintenance. Their commode malfunctioned and the maintenance person who came to repair it was extremely rude. Knocked on the door, stomped into the bath, made the repair and then left, all without speaking a word and acting as if it were an imposition on them to do their job. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms nicely appointed. I would stay there again without any hesitation.

Charged $6.00 for a crib. If you go to any Residence Inn it is complimentary. The hotel staff are not very helpful, They turn the lights off areound the pool at exactly 11pm while children are still in the pool, safety issue. Stayed on the 4th floor, windows do not have child locks to prevent them from being opened fully. I left 2 days early just to get away from the crappy service. Had to ask for toilet paper for the bathroom on more than one occasion. For paying 104 a night I think I should be able to get at least 1 on the roll and (2) under the sink.

We stayed 4 nights @ $140. per night. Called for help hooking up the Free Internet, and were told they have nothing to do with internet, to call an 800 #. Called down for pillows and blankets, were told to come get them. Were supplied with 1/2 roll of tolite paper - you guessed it - the staff never got out of their seats to help with ANYTHING. It was 96 degrees and there was no A/C in halls or elevator - both stunk like sweat and mold. Furniture musty, room smelly. Ice maker did not work. Stayed there a few years ago and it was great - the new staff now was awful. We left after 4 nights, went to MainStay in Knoxville, which was terrific with a great staff.

Some of my family (mother, grandmother, sister, and niece) decided to do something different for vacation this year and went to Pigeon Forge for Dollywood and some other activities. We chose the Mainstay after hearing reviews from a family friend that they stay here at least twice a year. The hotel was busy during the weekend with family reunions and then starting Monday it was the Girl's Fastpitch World Series. Everyone that stayed at the hotel were wonderful, as well as staff (very helpful). The hotel is situated off the main highway which made it quite peaceful, and was pretty central in Pigeon Forge. They do not offer daily maid service, it is a call when needed feature which we loved! The continental breakfast mainly had the basics (coffee, juice, toast, bagels, ceral, hard boiled eggs) but did also include bear waffles, sausage and biscuits and gravy. The pool was the hot spot to hang out at during the night which my 6 year old niece loved to meet new friends every night. It seemed like the room would be small for 5 people upon arriving, but we were able to manage just fine.

Located just off the main strip tucked away so you don't hear the traffic. It was a wonderful place with a slow flowing stream right next to it.. The hotel was clean , very rooming with an indoor and outdoor pool plus a small lazy river which was very relaxing. This place is great for a family with kids because it also has a small kiddie pool with a umbrella waterfall.. Great scenery around the hotel. The room has a small kitchen so if you wanna save more money by cooking your own meals you can do that. There is also a tram stop which we took to go to Dollywood. The only things which was negative was that they only provided a few tubes for the lazy river so I would recommend ,if they allow it ,to bring your own. also the pictures online showed eggs for breakfast but when we were there they didn't have it. But the breakfast they do provide is great with biscuits and gravy and you can make your own bear shaped waffles plus cereals, toast and alot of other items. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone

This was our first trip to Pigeon Forge. I really liked how this hotel is off of the busy strip. We went over 4th of July weekend which was very crowded (I would not do that again). However, for being so crowded I thought the staff did a very good job. The rooms were nice a little dated but nice and very clean. The pool area was excellent. I would totally stay here again!!
