Stayed here Nov. 4 & 5, 2010 in a 2 bedroom suite. Stayed with my sister and our elderly parents. The suite was very roomy and the bedrooms were separated by a living room area which allowed for plenty of privacy. One bedroom had a king bed and the other had two doubles. Each room had a full bathroom that was roomy and well furnished. Each also had a TV. The beds were firm. I personally prefer a little softer bed, but just staying two nights, it was not overly uncomfortable.
There was a small kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator, a two burner stove (no oven), microwave oven, sink, dishwasher & coffee maker. The living room had a sleeper sofa and also a TV.
When we checked in, we were greeted in a very friendly manner. The front desk clerk informed us of all the amenities provided. The only thing he did not mention: that we would have to request dishes if we needed to use the kitchen in our suite. That was not a problem with us as we planned to only use the refrigerator and coffee maker. I had already read in other reviews here, that dishes were furnished only when requested. According to their webpage, there is a $20 security deposit required for the dishes and it is refunded upon the return of the clean dishes.
The breakfast was very enjoyable and there was a good variety of items. The omelets were quite good. There was a different 'omelet lady' each of the two mornings we had breakfast. While each of them were not overly outgoing they were nice enough when we placed our orders with them.
The decor may have been slightly dated. There were no noticeable odors that a couple of reviews have mentioned.
The location is convenient. It is a couple of blocks off the main drag. The noise factor and traffic flow is minimized despite being the closest hotel to Dollywood. However, even though there is a traffic light at the entrance to the hotel, there is no turn lane or light for turning left into the parking lot. Also, when leaving the parking lot, if you wanted to go across at the light, the traffic light sensor does not register the vehicle waiting at the light. Turning left (there is a left turn lane out of the parking lot) and right is no problem.
There was really only one thing that I had a problem with here. There was a security light affixed to the outside wall directly over the window of the room with the double beds. Because of its position there was no way to make the bedroom completely dark no matter how we tried to arrange the curtains. The light came in through the space between the top of the window and the curtain rod. If you are going to have lights affixed to the outside wall, the best way to do it would be to place them between the rooms.
When we checked out, we thanked the front desk clerk for our pleasant stay, and she actually thanked us for staying with them saying that if not for people like us, their customers, they would not have jobs. I have never experienced that before and I usually average two to four hotel stays a year. That was really quite refreshing.
Overall, this was a very pleasant stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all and I would stay here again.
