“Ok”
Reviewed March 13, 2012

I think their pizza is over priced and greasy but so many other really think this is the best pizza in east Tennessee. If you are new to the area is worth a try and see what you think.

“The One and Only Big Ed's Pizza”
Reviewed March 10, 2012

Big Ed's is one of the best places to eat pizza. It is a landmark in East Tennessee. Oak Ridge is lucky to have it stick around for years. Not fancy by any means-tiny paper plates, plastic spoons-with old tables and chairs but with quaint and fun atmosphere. I do have to say service is usually good, but the last time we were there, one of our group of four never received his pizza and he was livid!

“Good Pizza”
Reviewed February 6, 2012

The pizza is good. It still drives me crazy that you pay $20.00 for a pizza and have a fork that you can not cut the pizza with and a plate that the grease covers the table. I would eat here more often if you actually had a real plate and a real fork. It is nearly impossible to cut a thin pizza for yourself and your children with the materials you eat with here.

“If you didn't spend your high school days there, it's not great.”
Reviewed February 4, 2012

All the hype about this restaurant is due to the fact that it is next to what used to be the football stadium. So, for all those folks who grew up in any surrounding town, this was the place to be on Friday night. When we moved here, we heard a lot about it. Well, yes, the atmosphere feels like all those college beer halls of our past. This pizza was thin crust ( I like that), but there was so much sauce on it, that the toppings slid off. It was greasy, and we felt overprice. If you like a pizza with a lot of things on it, the additional cost for "extras" takes this into a fairly expensive pizza. There are better pizzas in the area. We may be a small town, but there are places with silverware and dishes. But if you are looking for a time-warp back to the fifties, or sixties. Big Ed's is surely the place.
