My husband and I were directed to the River Cafe for the first time 3yrs. ago from staff at George Dickel distillery. Not many other places to eat. Soooo glad we took them up on the advice and popped in for a bite. The staff is wonderful, so friendly and attentive to everyone. Food is awesome! We've become quite the regular there now traveling the 40minutes it takes us from home, but that's because we love sharing this local favorite with friends and family. We take our out of town guests, neighbors and friends from Nashville and surrounding areas. It's one of the "word of mouth" places you don't want to miss. We've attended fundraising events, concerts on fri/sat nights now if I can just make it to the Amazing Grazing on Sunday!! We love this place and will continue to share it with everyone as one of our all time favorites. Try them out , you'll be so glad you did. We love every food item they've made. Not much we've not tried. Great place for families, girls luncheon, dinner and music with friends. Just a down home kinda place.

My husband and I were starving after our tour of the George Dickel Distillery, and our guide suggested we go just down the road to The River Cafe in Normandy. It's about the only building in town! Our server, a really sweet young lady, was attentive and prompt even though she was also taking care of a table of 15. The ribs were the best we've had since traveling through Tennessee, the sides were delicious and the corncake was perfect...I never eat bread, and I ate every crumb. A great small town cafe! Another plus: the drive from the distillery is lovely, and the drive on 269 back to I-24 was even better.

If you love Ribs, Brisket, Pulled Pork and Chicken, you will love this restaurant. Top that off with the Whiskey Bread Pudding "By George"... OMG.. Saturday nights you eat and listen to some of the best musicians and writers out there. Better make a reservation after 6:00 pm...On Sunday, you can't miss the Buffet that the Chef Joe gordon puts on. I've eaten there since 2010 and it never fails me..

good BBQ, great service, very friendly people. Nice small cafe for stop to enjoy a great lunch in an old time country cafe. Bread pudding one of the best if not the best I have ever eaten. Bourbon bread pudding doesn't get any better than that. You'll have to visit the River Cafe to learn the Nashville music connection.
