“A bit misleading”

Upon checking into our room, I conducted a quick cleanliness inspection. There was dried urine on our toilet, dust on our headboard, and stained/dirty-looking wash rags hanging on our towel rack. Additionally, a large wet spot was in front of our refrigerator from the unit defrosting (it wasn't cold nor was the freezer frozen). We went for a dip in the Jacuzzi only to be disgusted by a thick layer of brown colored film/slime on the walls and a very overwhelming chemical smell protruding through the jets. The breakfast in the morning was a sham. No meat or eggs or bagels or pastries like normal breakfasts. Just toast cereals and juice or coffee. They did have waffles though. We spent 120 dollars for a two night stay in a king suite. I expected a bit more cleanliness for the money we paid.

Thank you for your review. The housekeeping issues you specify have been addressed. We have new staff and more in-depth training concerning our guests and our own expectations of the cleanliness or our rooms and property. The pool and jacuzzi problems have been fixed and are both checked daily for correct chemical levels. The breakfast we offer is a continental breakfast as advertised. We are also pleased to offer fresh hot waffles as well. Stop by and take a look next time you are in the area. I bet we will become your every visit destination. Thanks!

Internet service was not working and no one in hotel or out of hotel staff night or day could get it working. I would not have booked the stay if you had not offered free internet service. We had none. Got blank stares from staff when we reported no internet service. "someone was supposed to be dong something or checking on it, but no results.

No toilet paper in room or bath. The roll in dispenser in room was depleted.

My whilte ankle socks were brown / black from the room carpet and floor.

There was no facial / ( kleenex) tissue in the room or dispenser in vanity.

There was no luggage cart available and we had lost of luggage due to 44 day trip. We are 72 years old with one handicapped so no luggage cart was a big issue with us.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It troubles me deeply to hear of the problems you experienced during your stay with us. Interenet service and WIFI can be fickle at times due to provider issues. We do have an excellent service provider and normally have no issues, however from time to time even the best have a bad day. The trouble with the housekeeping staff has been adrressed as well with new staff and detailed training of the cleanliness we expect. When visiting the area again feel free to stop by and check us out. I am sure will be ready to stay with us again. Thanks!

omg what a dive! pool was 100 degrees u couldnt even stay in for 5 min. service was snoody and the door to our room was almost off the hinges.desk manager was the rudest person ive ever met, wow never going to stay at a rr inn again!!!!

we stayed here over memorial day weekend because it was all we could find. The room was atleate 100 degrees when we got there because it was in the atrium. The A/c had been turned off in the room, it didn't cool down till around 4am! we called the front desk and were told they would bring us a fan, never came. We also ended up with half a roll of toilet paper and hair on the towels. We would have been better off sleeping in our car and saving $54! atleaste the car has a/c.

Thank you for your review. I do apoligize for the issues with your stay. While there is no excuse for the problems you encountered, I can offer a reason. Being Memorial Day weekend, and as you said it was one of the few rooms available, we had a major oversight in forgetting to turn the air conditioner on in the room so it would be cool and ready for guests. I am sorry for the discomfort it caused. I hope that you will consider giving us another chance to show you that it is not a normal situation. Thanks!

We were able to get the room for $43/ night through priceline. We just wanted a stop over for a night on a longer road trip that would be two days and one night in the smokys and off to myrtle beach. So wanting to go cheaper to save money for the beach we stayed here. For $43 we got a STEAL! Everything was sufficient. Nothing was outstanding and nothing was terrible. It was good buy and given the same situation, we would stay here again. The hotel is located close to some shopping (strip mall and walmart) and about 20 minutes from the East side of the park. It took about 35 minutes to get to the main park entrance in Gatlinburg. The indoor pool was kind of cool. Just enough that I only swam for a few minutes then got in the hot tub. There is a kiddie pool which my kids enjoyed but I pulled them out after their lips turned blue. Breakfast is continental. It had cereal, doughnuts and waffles with OJ and Milk. Overall good buy. Nothing special. Nothing bad

The indoor pool has so much chlorine your eyes will burn in the hallway and in your room. We asked to switch rooms and were told they were booked... With two cars in the parking lot all week. We cut our stay short and wont ever make that mistake again! If you happen to run into an issue. You can forget about someone caring. There are four hotels surrounding them. You would think they would put some thought into how they treat there guests.

We switched to the best western and had a great stay.

Spent a night at Red Roof Inn in Newport, TN as a halfway stop between Louisville and Raleigh, NC. We had a poolside room. The pool is enclosed in a large atrium with plenty of room for kids to play around. The pool was large for hotel this size, and also had a nice hot tub. The room was large, with a refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker,hairdryer, and iron. The bed was nothing special, but comfortable. A small breakfast (with waffles, toast, cereal, juice, coffee) was included. The nice part - the price!. Got this for 49.50 !!! Will definitely use this again on future trips.

Room Tip: Definitely want a poolside room on the ground floor
