“Most Attentive .. Definitely would return”

Every aspect of our stay was wonderful. I spoke to them several times on the phone prior to arriving to solidify our plans, change plans, get directions, gather information etc... each time they handled us with complete professionalism and were courteous even though we had to make adjustments in our arrangements. When we arrived we were awed by the property itself and its great location. We arrived late in the evening and had not eaten and inquired about available food... the staff readily prepared us a wonderful meal -- even though it was only 15 minutes from the last service time. It was wonderful food, a fantastic atmosphere and great service. We were thrilled with the rooms, and the attention we received. Definitely will go back and recommend it highly!!!

My husband and I stayed here for our birthdays and had a wonderful time. The host, Marston, was very personable and generous. We greatly enjoyed ourselves.

This was the most beautiful place to have a small intimate wedding. Our whole family reserved the bed and breakfast for my son's wedding. Not only was the view spectacular, the rooms were beautiful and spacious. The food was beyond excellent. The staff was great and made the stay that much more enjoyable. If you want to get away to a special place with a loved one or with a small group, please do not pass up the chance to see this place.

My husband and I booked this for our anniversary. So exiceted when we arrived. The bullding was beautiful. Nobody to greet us though We wandered around about 15 minutes and finally a housekeeper arrived. She showed us to our room. We noticed a distinct smell when we walked in. Soon we found swarming ladybugs on the ceiling, falling on the bed in the windows, dead/live bugs on the floor and behind and under the bed. I pulled back the pillows and sheets to find dead bugs there too. Hense the smell. The housekeeper offered to vacuum abut said they would just come back since she just vacuumed 45 minutes ago and that they had bugs in every room. She called the owner who was less than curteous. For a select location such as this, we were very surprised with the curt response we got from the owner"THEY'RE JUST LADYBUGS THEY DON'T BITE". We did get our deposit back but he said "GOOD LUCK WITH FINDING ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY" and hurried us out the door.Thank goodness we got reservations at the Berry Springs Lodge where we stayed last year and ended up having a wonderful weekend. I guess the owner at Christopher Place expects his customers to sleep tight as the bed bugs don't bite!

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. The staff, food, and accomodations were all 5 star. Added plus is the pub which served delicious food and a choice selecton of beers, wines and spirits by a roaring fire.

We recently stayed for 2 nights at Christopher place, we were aware of Christopher Place because we had stayed there 1.5 years ago before I had a kidney transplant to relax before my surgery and it fit the bill perfectly and had such a wonderful time that when were looking for a place to relax with friends we immediately thought of Christopher Place.
We had perfect weather for our visit and stayed in the same room we stayed in 1.5 years ago the Secret Garden. While the Secret Garden is one of the lower priced rooms we think it's the best room, it has a queen size bed that is so comfortable I could sleep the entire day away with a down comforter and supersoft pillows, the room also had a 2 person shower with a shower head at each end and a 2 person hot tub in the corner, there is also a nice view from the tiny window out of which we saw a flock of wild turkeys walking by one morning. There were also soft warm robes hanging in the bathroom and all the amenities you might forget to bring with you like cotton balls, q-tips, lotion etc. While this might seem like a minor thing it was just one example of all the small details that are paid attention to by Christopher Place. As I said before the bed was super comfortable and we would have slept all day if it weren't for the wonderful full size breakfast they have ready for you at whatever time you request. We had a wonderful breakfast each morning that was so large and filling we never ate lunch the entire time we were there. We also had reservations for dinner with our 8 other friends that were staying at the resort and C.P was incredibly accomodating to our needs, I can't say enough about how wonderful CP is and would HIGHLY recommend it for a couple looking for a weekend to relax alone together or spending time hanging out with old friends. Oh and one important thing my husband asked me to mention, the best thing about our room was that we were close to the recreation room which boasts a pool table, big screen TV, board games and a fridge with water and soda available anytime but most importantly (according to my husband) fresh baked cookies!

  • Liked — Everything, everyone was so polite and accomodating, plus the food was great!
  • Disliked — Nothing, it was great!

We recently spent a weekend at Christopher Place with several friends. There were five couples in our group and the owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome. We stayed in the Tournament of Roses room which is located on the second floor of the pool house/workout room and is separate from the rest of the B&B. It was very private and romantic with a four poster queen size bed, wood burning fireplace, small sofa and jacuzzi tub for two. A nice touch was the iPod player on the bedside table which we used all the time. The TV was satellite, but we didn't really watch except for morning news and weather. The bed was very comfortable and there was an extra blanket in the closet for the chilly nights.

The days were unseasonably warm during our stay and we were able to enjoy the rocking chairs on the back patio overlooking the beautiful view while several in our group played a game of croquet on the lawn. Afterward we enjoyed a walk up the hiking trail located on the property and took a few pictures before heading back down for an afternoon cocktail in the Library Pub.

We had dinner on Saturday night in the Mountain View Dining Room which we had made reservations for ahead of time. We ordered wine from their extensive wine list and the dessert was a chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice cream that was a perfect ending to a delicious meal.

We had an amazing weekend and would highly recommend Christopher Place for a little R&R at a beautiful B&B overlooking the Great Smokey Mountain National Park.

  • Liked — Beautiful, romantic room with two person jacuzzi
  • Disliked — Only thing I can think of is the smell of smoke on my clothes from the fireplace, but who cares? I LOVED the fireplace!!
