“In town around NAMM last year - Awesome pool”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2009

I enjoyed my two night stay here. There were four of us packed into a room so the rooms were a little cramped but they were nice and easily comfortable for 2 people. The beds were comfy and the rooms were clean. I think we even had a fridge too. I think the noise is ok, unless you are in any of the rooms on the inside lining the pool. We did go to the pool during the day though and the pool was awesome! It had a deep end and everything. It's a good location, right next to the highway. When I was there it was a little rowdy because a lot of people were in town for NAMM but normally I am sure it's a little quieter.

This hotel is approximately 5 minutes from downtown Nashville. There are multiple bars across the street and a couple just right down the road, with a 5 minute walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is right next to the road. From inside our room we could hear cars going up and down the road all night, loud motorcycle engines being rev'ed up and also going up and down the road, there were several groups of people standing right outside our room talking and different times during the night, and we heard at least 3 ambulance sirens go by. Needless to say, sleep was very difficult with all the noise. I strongly recommend staying somewhere else - this location is just way too close to all the nightlife and its associated loud, obnoxious jerks - you are guaranteed to not get any sleep.

I know it is only a two star hotel but I would certainly give it a four. The room was fine with a small fridge, microwave and coffer perculator plus iron, hair dryer etc. The cleaning ladies were super and the front desk representatives were great too. The free breakfast could last you all day if you could eat enough. Homemade waffles, boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, bagels, danish, sauages with sauce etc. I have never seen such a variety. Walking distance to the Ryman Auditorium, Country Music Hall of Fame, Wildhorse Saloon, Hard Rock Cafe, Tootsies, and a lot of other places on Broadway. We are planning to go back and this will be the hotel that we will be booking.

This hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the Sommett Centre. Now that I've stated all the positives about the Comfort Inn, here are the negatives:
It's abviously a converted motel - it should have become an Econo-Lodge.
Rooms are accessed from an exterior walkway.
Reception is tiny & cramped
Soundproofing is non-existent - I could tell exactly the time the person in the unit behind me showered, brushed their teeth & ....... well I'm sure you can guess the rest.
Free breakfast is way below par as compared to the a Hampton Inn.
Rooms are dated and getting a bit shabby around the edges.
After staying at a Hampton Inn & a Staybridge Suites over the previous couple of weeks, this was a huge dissappointment.

We stayed here one night while stranded in downtown Nashville. Our car broke down and was being fixed down the street, so we stayed here and made the best of being located so close to Broadway.

We didn't spend much time in the room, but it was clean and seemed safe. The price was good for being over the 4th of July holiday and being last minute. We walked to and from the hotel and Broadway/Opry/Music Row several times. The weather was nice and the exercise was good. Would stay again.

We were in Nashville for the Celine concert Jan 13 2009-We wanted to stay close to downtown -most rooms were 200.00+/night and this did not include a $ 20 parking fee . Read members reviews and decided to stay at comfort inn on demonbreun st--the room was 81.00 (this included taxes) parking was free -included a standard continental breakfast also. The room was small but clean and comfy. The bed slept great. Check in/ out was quick and hassle free-staff very helpful-Nice evening so we decided to walk to the Sommet center-only took about 10 minutes-easy walk-sidewalks all the way in. Cab fare will cost about $7.00 one way (we ended up taking a cab back to the room after having way too good a time at Tootsies lounge :)--we will be return customers.

I’m just back from a four-night stay at this hotel. The last time I was in Nashville (1997) the Country Music Hall of Fame was across the Street and there were tacky gift shops. All that is gone now. New condos are going up across the street and a noisy Irish pub across the street. But I was in Nashville for a conference and didn’t want to spend $149/night.

On line I was able to pay $72 for Wednesday and Thursday and $92. for Friday and Saturday. WITH the high tax it was just over $400. for 4 nights for a King Bed. The Best Western Music Row is a half block further from town and would have cost $15. more per night.

As noted, this is not a new hotel (It was a Shoney’s at one time). There is an outside pool in front so the rooms around the pool can be noisy. I asked for a quiet room and got room 342 which was fine. The Air conditioner was no noisier than other hotels. The room was reasonably large and there is a sink outside the toilet shower. Yes the toilet shower room is small but not a problem. My room had a refrigerator and a microwave and a coffee maker.

The continental plus breakfast (6:30-9:30) is more than adequate with fresh waffles, cereal, bagels, donuts, English muffins, juice and fresh fruit. Also free USAToday.

As for location it is 11 blocks (15-18 minute walk to the Ryman, and the music stores and bars via Broadway. A nice easy walk. There is no bus on that route. There is a nice clean McDonalds about 2 blocks away. If you plan to go and come back often throughout the day and don’t have a car, this is not your place. If you have a cr, it’ll probably be cheaper to stay further out of town. But if you are here for a Convention and want to save money, this is a good choice.

The lobby also has one PC with free internet.

And the Staff is great! Always friendly and helpful and they remembered my wake up call time each day.

Be aware that most businesses that aren’t restaurants or bars close at 6pm. There are no drugstores in Downtown Nashville open after 6pm.

  • Liked — The Price and the included breakfast
  • Disliked — A bit worn and could be noisy parties
