This is a 4 star hotel that we booked through Priceline at $95. Normally we don't pay this much or require a four star hotel to have a nice time, but after doing some research (price/location) regarding lesser hotels this was a great bargin. We wanted to stay in downtown Nashville accessible to everything that we had planned for a Friday night and Saturday, it was great. The only negative is parking across the street @ $4, a little inconvenient but not insurmountable. In house restaurant a little pricey. This one your going to love.

Stayed here for combination business and pleasure after the conference ended (8 nights in total). Check-in was quick and easy.

Front desk and concierge staff friendly and helpful.

Room was clean and comfortable. Great views with floor to ceiling windows.

The hotel is now all non-smoking so I am not quite sure why other reviews complained about smoke. Also, we did not have any problems with noise from neighboring rooms. Other reviewers complained about the long wait for an elevator. With 5 elevators we never waited long for one especially during this busy week with the country music awards going on.

Great location with everything within walking distance.

We will definitely return on our next trip to Nashville.

A lot of people on here are almost retarded. This place is nice. Get it through priceline though.. much cheaper. Parking is in the garage across the street for $4 (on a Friday night which is about the cheapest in Nashville, especially with about 10 different events going on last weekend).

Check in was a breeze.. even with a short wait. I spent maybe one minute at the desk getting my room. Got it on the 11th floor... great view of the city. Beds were comfy. Bathroom was nice. The room was a little cramped but definately not a shoebox. TV was nice.

This is about the best deal in Nashville.. (especially through priceline). You are near to the center of everything. The clubs/bars and resturants are a short walk away, as are events in the GEC (Predators hockey, concerts, etc). One of the safer areas in Nashville despite past reviews. The "seedy" clubs one person was referring to must not know the history surrounding "Printer's Alley". Definately check this area if you like blues bars and karaoke bars. It's not that bad, seriously.

Nashville is a fun town. I'm glad I live nearby.

Wow...after seeing all of the reviews for this hotel my husband and I were a little apprehensive about staying at the Renaissance. We typically stay at one of the other 4 star downtown hotels, but they had no availability so we opted to stay at the Renaissance despite the traveler reviews we read on trip advisor.

We were both pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was! We really only had two issues 1) the bathroom sink didn't drain properly and 2) the temperature in the room could not be altered. We had turned the AC down to 65 and the room pretty much stayed 75 degrees so we had no control over this, but since it was October and it wasn't too hot outside it wasn't a major issue.

The room was very clean, room service was top notch, the front desk staff was super-friendly and the beds were soooo comfortable.

We will defintely be staying at the Renaissance again and I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to the area.

After reading some of the previous reviews of the Marriott Renaissance, I was expecting to be disappointed. But thankfully, that wasn't the case. I had a corner room on the 20th floor, with fantastic panorama views of the river, city, and outlying areas. The room was very clean, great bedding, and a nice spacious bathroom. It was also pretty quiet, and I slept well. If you go there ask for a room with a view of the river...I thought that perspective was much better than looking at a wall of skyscrapers. The hotel air system seemed a little off, as my eyes were extremely dry, but bring some eye drops and you should be fine.

I would stay there again, if I was mandated to visit Nashville again. The Nashville downtown area lacked green space, shopping, and movie theaters, but it did have an abundance of bars with really good musical acts. The night scene seemed very lively, and beer before 7PM, was two for one at almost all of the clubs, fyi.

This hotel was simply terrible. Not only is it surrounded only by carparks and nowhere to eat but we arrived quite late one night from a long flight to be told that the room we were being given had damp carpets. DAMP CARPETS!!??? Yes, the carpets were still wet from a shampooing. Why were the carpets being shampooed we wondered...It was the only room left so we had to take it. We arrive in the room, and yes, they were damp. Not only that but the room wrecked of smoke and we had requested a non-smoking room. All the pillows and fabrics wrecked of smoke. Not only that, but one of the beds was not made. THE BED WAS NOT MADE!! To top it all off the towels were awful - small and rough - and orange stuff came out of the taps. My husband and I had such trouble sleeping because of the smoke and woke up the next day with breathing difficulties. They did give a complimentary breakfast but we were so glad to get out of there. We left for Loew's which was further out but really really nice.

I agree with previous posts that you would only stay here if using the convention center next door. There is nothing around this hotel except parking lots and empty buildings. A short walk takes you to a row of seedy bars. If you want to eat out in nice places, you need to take a taxi. Valet parking was $22. This hotel rooms feel like a 3 star Courtyard interstate highway hotel, and the bathrooms at Holiday Inn Express are probably the same standard. Some rooms have connecting doors and you can hear everything people next door are saying with the door closed. Nevertheless, if you are here for a convention, it's convenient and comfortable enough.
