We live in Nashviille but went for a romantic weekend getaway for our anniversary. The staff was very helpful and friendly upon check in. The only disappointment was with booking through Expedia we did not have the option to choose our room preference so we were put in a room with 2 double beds which was the only room available in non-smoking. So we decided to stay in a king size room on a smoking floor which was not our first choice. The bed and linens were plush and perfect for our romantic getaway. The room had a great view of the city with floor to ceiling windows. We would definitely recommend this hotel to out of town visitors especially since it is cinvenient for a walking tour of downtown Nashville. And parking was only $5/day in the attached garage as compared to $20/day at other downtown hotels.

Hotel is adjacent to the Convention Center, around the block from the Ryman and a few steps further from some fun restaurants and bars. We parked our car and were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Very clean room, but fairly average considering the price. Valet and room service were prompt and friendly. This is a very large and busy hotel, and we waited several minutes for an elevator more than once. There is nothing particularly extraordinary about the hotel aside from its convenient location, but that's to be expected from a chain hotel next to a convention center. I would stay here again if I could find a good deal.

I visited this hotel from December 28-January 2 for a New Years Eve Conference. It was a very nice hotel. Rooms were very nice, clean, and had a nice view of the city. Didn't get a change to eat at any of the restaurants but its location is perfect!

My girlfriend from CT and I stayed here Aug. 3rd - 5th to attend a conference at the Gaylord Entertainment Center. The hotel was very convenient to the G.E.C. as well as Printers Alley and all the downtown Honky -Tonks! What fun, ALL of the bands were top-notch musicians, we had a hard time leaving each place to go on to the next! The cab drivers were respectful and helpful and reasonable. Even the city bus driver went literally out of his way to insure our safety and convenience. We felt very "watched out for". The Renaissance service was remarkable and impressive. Our hair dryer was broken when we got there and 20 minutes after we called a new one had been installed. The Door Men hailed our cabs and I swear we never opened a door to enter or leave the Hotel during the day, they were always there welcoming us in. Loved it! Oh my,,,did I mention the beds? As everyone has said "They were awesome!" Honestly, this is the 1st time I slept in a hotel the 1st night without a sleep aid! The worst thing I could write was the carpet was a little stained in our room. Big deal! We're returning next year with each of our sisters!

This was a lovely hotel. I stayed on the 24th floor and the view was wonderful. The bedding was especially nice and I slept like a baby the three nights I was there. The 24th floor has a guest lounge and the 6-9am complimentary continental breakfast was filled with delicious fresh fruit and warm oatmeal. The coffee was awful though! I ended up at the 3rd floor Starbucks every morning. That was okey though because it was located near the gym and pool which were very nice. The elevators were a little slow. With a convention at the hotel, I expected some delay, but once I waited six minutes for the elevator from the hotel lobby. Make sure you are a Marriott Rewards member - you get 25% off food purchases at the hotel. You can register on site and get a temporary rewards card if you don't have one. The bell staff was prompt and the hotel concierge was extremely helpful in getting my husband a golf tee time. This is a great hotel if you want to stay in downtown Nashville.

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights while attending a conf. Room was fine as was the service. No real complaints other than the parking situation.

You must park in the muni. garage across the street. It costs $5 each time you go out, not a good situation if you use your car frequently. The only alternative is to use the valet parking for $20/day. Also, the area to load/unload bags at the front of the hotel is very small and congested, and if traffic is heavy you may have trouble backing out or even finding a space to pull into.

We stayed at the Marriot Renaissance in Nashville, TN the weekend prior to the Fourth of July 2006. We had been warned by others on this site to stay away from some other downtown Nashville hotels, so we took heed and picked this one as it got the best reviews. We were not disappointed. Upon arrival the desk staff was friendly and quick. I had signed up as a Marriot rewards customer and was given a 25 percent off coupon for any meals in the hotel. Our room was on the 7th floor on the corner and was a handicapped accessible room (even though neither of us are disabled). This was nice though, because there was much more space in the bathroom and the room itself. The windows in the room were floor to ceiling on one whole wall allowing us to open them and see most all of downtown including a good view of the Ryman auditorium (original Grand Ole Opry). This was really nice. The curtains were sufficient enough to block out early morning sun. The room was clean, pillows were heavenly, and the bed was extrememly comfortable. We spent some time in the nice pool and fitness area. The sauna was way too hot but an effiicient attendant took care of it immediately. The hotel is attached to the convention center and there was a large group there during our stay. No one was bothersome or too loud, however I imagine that could all depend on the group. The hotel is within minutes of wonderful attractions like the Country Music Hall of Fame, the before mentioned Ryman, and all of the Broadway Honky-tonks which are open almost all day with live music. Restaurants for dinner are close-by (Demo's was really good) but finding a reasonably priced breakfast wasn't easy. The hotel breakfast was still a bit pricey even with the coupon and there really isn't anything within walking distance except for a small pastry cafe. Beware though, everywhere in Nashville seems to be under construction right now. Some sidewalks are closed and you have to walk around them, sometimes having to cross the street and back again. Not terrible, though. We enjoyed our stay at the Marriot Renaisssance. If we ever visit again, we will plan on staying there again.
