“Great hotel, great location!”
Reviewed February 2, 2014

I stayed at the Renaissance Nashville for 4 nights in Jan 2014 to attend a conference. From the initial check-in process, the experience was wonderful. Justin at the front desk was polite and willing to give helpful information about the area. Our room, with two queen beds and a city view, was comfortable and always clean. The Starbucks in the lobby was a big hit with all visitors--always a long line.

The hotel is about a 20 minute drive from the airport. This means a $25 cab ride or the Gray Line shuttle is $14 one way. You can also take this shuttle back from the hotel--it leaves every half hour.

The Renaissance is walking distance to many area attractions and we felt safe wherever we went. Broadway, with its plethora of honky-tonk bars, is an easy 8-minute walk. You have plenty of dining options in this area, such as the Rock Bottom Brewery and Margaritaville-Nashville. If you are a beer aficionado, Flying Saucer (8 minute walk in the opposite direction of Broadway from the hotel) is heaven on earth with over 80 taps.

Renaissance Nashville is an excellent choice when visiting the Music City.

You can hear your neighbors brush their teeth. Not what you would expect in this level hotel. The hallways are also very loud. Otherwise, comfortable and very friendly staff. Good location to many walkable areas of downtown Nashville

Our room was recently redone, very nice and comfortable. Location of hotel is very convenient to the music area, yet quiet enough in the evening. Service from each person, each area of the hotel was courteous and responsive. Housekeeper on 9th floor, Yolanda, very pleasant and helpful with a minor issue (not her fault).

Room Tip: Our views on 9th floor were fine, higher up might be a little prettier.

This Renaissance is a lot like other Renaissance properties, which is a good thing. It has a more contemporary decor (nicer furniture, nice headboard, flat screen TV mounted onto the wall) and nicer bathrooms (elegant and sleek with a modern sink and faucet similar to what you find in the restroom of a contemporary and upscale restaurant). Like most Marriott brands, this Renaissance was comfortable and featured a good and friendly staff too.

Unfortunately, room rates are typically high here though Nashville hotels are on the pricier side. This Renaissance's location is one of the reasons for its expensive rate; this hotel is within walking distance to key Nashville destinations like Ryman Auditorium though you will have to walk down 1 or 2 empty blocks to get to some of these destinations. Overall, this Renaissance is a nice property with good rooms, but for the high room rate, I actually prefer staying outside of Downtown Nashville given that the traffic is not that bad here.

Pros: Contemporary and comfortable rooms, sleek and elegant bathrooms, nice and spacious 24-hr fitness centers, the Concierge Lounge for Gold and Platinum Marriott Rewards members has a good variety of food at nightly appetizers service (though the food was just okay), good location

Cons: Expensive room rate (it takes a lot of Marriott Rewards points to redeem for a stay too), Expensive parking (valet is $32/night, which feels high given that the city operated structure across the street is $5/day on weekends and $10/day on weekdays though the parking structure does not offer in and out privileges), Concierge Lounge has been temporarily located to a bland banquet room (though the hotel has tried to make it nicer by adding a few flat screen TVs), in-room safe was not working (though I did not bring it up to the staff and I am sure the staff would have fixed it quickly)

Anthony N-Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments about the Renaissance Nashville. I am glad you found our rooms to be contemporary and comfortable. I am also glad our staff was friendly. Our club lounge opens this evening back on the 24th floor, so we hope you do return and are able to experience that room. If you could let me know what room you were in I would be happy to get the safe in the room fixed for the next guest. Please feel free to contact me at Jennifer.frandsen@renaissancehotels.com

I stay here every few months and had another great stay tonight. Rooms are newly renovated and very nice. I had lunch in the downstairs restaurant and had wonderful service from Alicia. I had dinner with my coworkers in the lounge area upstairs and again wonderful service from Justin and James. The food was yummy - chicken quesadilla app + steak salad. Our server, Justin, did a fantastic job in interacting with us, was very attentive and friendly. Great job Justin, keep up that great attitude and hard work! Cheers!!
