“Good hospitality”

The rooms are nothing to rave about, but the service was very good, start to finish with everyone. The staff in the concierge lounge were wonderful and the bellman in the lobby were very helpful. Elevators were a bit slow. There is a good Starbucks in the lobby, good bar on the third floor, and the hotel location is good. About one block from the Ryman Auditorium and two blocks from Broadway where the bars/restaurants are located.

First, I will say that the staff is extremely friendly and helpful at this hotel. Katherine in concierge lounge is amazing! Great location.
The room did not compare to other Renaissance properties I've stayed at. Not worth the price. The hotel is due for a make over! Thin walls as well. Noisy hall.

Room Tip: Away from elevators

The Renaissance was probably nice at one time. Now, it is a bit old and tired. The elevators are slow and you may have to wait for several minutes (10 or more). The rooms are clean and comfortable, but not nice.

We had a very fun time in the bar on the 3rd floor. There were a lot of hard drinking men and women there on a Friday night. I really liked the location and I was able to walk all over town from the hotel.

Lobby is nice....that's where it ends. The two amenities are Starbucks and the kiosk where you can print your boarding pass. That's pretty much where it ends. Restaurant has terrible service and mediocre food. One day I stayed out of the room from 7:45 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and the maid never came. I tracked down the cart and got myself some coffee for the next day. I did not complain as she told me she was very busy, I was tired and I just wanted to lay down and I had towels for the next day. Not to mention the guy yelling obscenities in the hallway on Friday night at 2:30 a.m. and slamming doors. Although I got the block room rate, there was no fridge and no micro for $153.00. You could absolutely do much better if you name your price somewhere else.

Room Tip: ha! stay home.

I stayed three nights at this hotel while in town with a group of girlfriends. I drove in and it was easy to reach from I40, friends who flew said it's a quick taxi ride from the airport. I parked in the garage across the street and did not need to use it all weekend & the rate was affordable. As others have mentioned, the location cannot be beat. Broadway with the many bars and restaurants is literally around the corner. Ryman Auditorium is even closer. Country Music Hall of Fame, ditto. It was great to be able to go out for the afternoon, come back to the hotel to freshen up and then go back out. But for the price we paid per night (weekend so $300 for two queens), I expected a little more. The beds were very comfortable and the room was a good size and very quiet. But it was little things...the hairdryer in the bathroom was not working properly, the shower wasn't draining and the tap in the tub would run while the shower was on, the TV stations weren't working most of the time. Wifi was not free with the room, no mini-fridge. The pool was lovely but for the size of the hotel (huge), the sundeck was tiny with limited seating and by 11AM was packed. They allow you to bring drinks and snacks onto the sundeck (fun) so Friday & Saturday it was full of large groups of partiers ignoring the no smoking signs and parked for the day.

The hotel staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast in the hotel in the AM was fine...they have a buffet but I chose to order off of the menu just one item and the price was fair. We ordered room service two night, late, and got pizza that hit the spot and was quickly delivered and tasty.

The elevators....well, that was another story. Luckily I was on the 8th floor as I took the stairs most of the time both up and down as after waiting up to 10 minutes to get down to the lobby got old. There were signs up in the elevators that they were being improved but a guy that I rode with one morning told me that he'd been at the hotel in April and it was exactly the same situation. Definitely something that the hotel needs to address. Once you get onto the elevator, the ride was quick but if you needed a ride during a busy time (Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday check-out time, etc), it was exasperating.

I'd stay here again for the location and the staff but know that my money is paying for those features, not a luxury hotel stay.

Room Tip: Choose a low floor as you may need to walk up and down the stairs instead of very long waits for the...

Never been to Nashville but really enjoyed our visit. Our hotel was very nice. Lobby was inviting and open. Staff was very nice, helpful, and courteous. King bed was super comfy. We had a room the end/corner with a wall of windows and the view was nice, especially at night. It was nice having a Starbucks in the lobby. My husband and I used the fitness facility that is located by the indoor pool. I laid out on the sundeck one morning and enjoyed the quiet. We would definitely stay there again. We were a short walk from all the bars on Broadway.

Room Tip: Corner/end rooms have a wall of windows to see the city and higher rooms are best
