“Worst hotel I have ever stayed in!”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

The room was a two star room at best. Because of the location I am sure it receives better rating than it deserves. Very disappointed hotel overall. The worst part was the dried pee on the bathroom floor! I have been in unclean rooms but this tops the list!!!

Attended a conference there. Bed was very uncomfortable. It actually had a lump in the middle, and rolled down hill to the edge. Staff very helpful. Easy walking distance to all of downtown. Charge 14.00 per day for internet-most hotels have free wifi.

I am a flight attendant and this is one of my favorite places to stay in the world! Everything about the hotel is great and it has the BEST location for going to the Second St/Broadway entertainment district! Don't think that Nashville is all C/W music either! There is something for everybody down there and it's the cleanest/safest downtown area I have experienced! I feel completely safe making the short walk around the corner and starting my day or evening at Legends Bar on the corner and working my way down and back. I feel completely at ease even if I'm solo and walking back to the hotel late at night. The staff is professional and courteous, workout room and pool very nice and rooms clean/comfy and my biggest concern is that the rooms have a coffee maker! This would be the ideal hotel for business, pleasure, couples or a girls or guys wkend trip!

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper you may want a front facing room...as I noticed I faintly heard the music...

I want to be very selective in my comments. The Renaissance' Rooms' Department service, including Front Desk, Valets, Bellmen, "Navigators" and Room Attendants, is outstanding. They are a convention property and take exceptionally good care of their guests. Meeting and Convention Sales Department is entirely professional and takes good care of business. Banquet and event food and beverage output is faultless.

There is a "Starbucks" shop next to the lobby. That's outstanding.

Beds are outstandingly comfortable. Great new NG 44" (approx.) flat screen TV with lots of channels. My understanding is that guest rooms were last renovated in 2007. Case goods are somewhat scarred. Upholstery is just a bit worn. No safe in the room. ($5 bottle of water prominently placed.) Potties need replacement.*

Then there is the restaurant. The hotel is surrounded, in beautiful downtown Nashville, with myriads of great restaurants in every price category. So, it appears they have thrown in the towel. Basically there is only one full service restaurant. It has very little ambiance. Well, it is poorly lighted and dingy. Applebee's has better service. Heck, Some Burger Kings have better service. Not that the servers aren’t friendly. They just have not been professionally trained. Someone gave them an order pad and turned them loose. Neither the servers nor the chef have any sense of timing. The entree came before we were finished with the Calamari (a bit chewy) and the Caesar salad, which had been delivered together. I asked the server if the chef was in a hurry to get home. If you got beyond that, the food was OK.

*But now tell me this; in a convention property where the vast mass of guests are adults including seniors and handicapped, why do they continue to insist on keeping fourteen inch high, water gulping toilets? These "conveniences" are really too low and are difficult to get up off of. When they renovate, they need to install seventeen and a half inch, TO-TO, or equivalent, water conserving potties. They will cut their water bills by thirty per cent. It doesn't take a BBA to figure out that it's not a "green" issue. Any property that continues to use conventional toilets is flushing profit down the drain.

Room Tip: : Views are good from every angle. All rooms (five elevators) are pretty much equidistant from meeti...

We booked this place through Marriott and as always--they were consistent. The food at the executive floor was decent and they had free non-alcoholic drinks available throughout the day. Good value overall, although do make sure you're away from the elevators & ice machine. It seems to be a default for they to put you there first, and change it for a more quiet room only upon request.

In Music City downtown, good location between Broadway Ave. and City / County / State buildings.

Lobby with a decoration that makes reference to music. A nice sight over the town when you take the lift to your room.
Excellent, helpful service. Nice rooms. Good Wi-Fi service, easy to connect.

To improve: breakfast. (Nothing extraordinary. The usual thing in American hotels - they lack fish, fruits, ...)

CAFETERIA.- I recommend you to take something in the third floor, they have put a cafeteria in sort of a bridge. Warm ambient. Not many but good wines. Good value.

Stayed at this hotel for 5-nights on a business trip. The experience was enjoyable. It is convienant located in downtown Nashville a block from the main "Honky Tonk" row, the Rhyman Theatre, Country Music Hall of Fame, the Arena where the Predators play, and more! The room was decent, very confortable beds, lcd TV, and nice views of the city. No fridge was included, but I requested one and they brought one up free of charge. The maids were prompt and throughough every day. Only disappointment was when I asked for the complimentary turndown service that they advertised one night and all I got was the bed fluffed up a bit and the towels picked up. There was no mint on my pillow or snack. I have gotten turndown service in many different hotels before and there was always something left for me. However, overall I would give this property a five. Did not have a car, so dont know how the parking situation is, but I believe they charge a nightly fee for it. Also, the pool is indoors, but there is a sun deck right next to it. The water temperature was nice and the spa was good too. Fitness area was great and had soem decent options for working out.

Room Tip: Get a high room facing the arena. I was in the corner room on the 17th floor with a view of the &quo...
