“Great Location, great food and great staff”
Reviewed May 24, 2011

Really enjoyed my stay. Typically stay with Marriots but decided to splurge and try out Marriotts High end hotel The Renaissance. It's like the difference between a Toyota and a Lexus, same company but the lexus just has more bells and whistles. In regards to this hotel, great staff, great food, great location.

Great Location...Can walk to Everything Downtown. Park across the street, cheap and not inconvenient to get back to hotel. Valet is way Too expensive for nothing. Concierge is one of the best I have encountered! Rooms are decent...Bridge Bar was disappointing! Great Starbucks in the Lobby. Mother's Day Brunch was WAY OVER PRICED!! $100 for 2 of us!! Most of the staff was friendly and very helpful. Front Desk staff was not friendly or helpful at all. Had booked a king and was told there was none available. After we produced printed confirmation sheet indicating we had reserved a king bed....poof!..one magically became available...not impressed with this! And you had to pay for internet....

Let me start by saying I originally tried to book at the Courtyard but because of my own error I ended up having to go with the Renaissance after the Courtyard was booked. We were in town for the Sugarland concert and it was a cold day temps in the 40s. We just got home earlier today and our experience at the hotel was great. I was especially glad to have such a close location with the cold weather. The self parking is in a deck that is connected to the hotel by an enclosed bridge area that had a cafe and bar area in it. Parking was cheap at $4.00. Check-in was easy. The room was nice and clean. The price of the hotel was a little high but I know the rates go up when there is an event in town. There was a Starbucks in the main lobby. I would stay here again if I couldn't stay at the Courtyard. This hotel is awesome but I think the Courtyard is a better value for less money.

We wanted to stay in downtown Nashville because we were attending the hockey game. The location was fantastic- a short walk to restaurants, bars, etc. The hotel was very nice - the concierge desk was wonderful! The parking was not too expensive if you did self-park, which was just across the street. The only downside to this hotel is we could hear the music from the bars all night. I didn't mind it - I love live music - but the kids could hear it and had trouble falling asleep. I would definitely recommend this hotel, but just remember you are downtown and it is noisy late into the night.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The cleanliness and service of this establishment is obvious upon arrival. John and Cassidy at the front desk were personable, friendly, and extremely helpful. Andrew at the consierge desk gave us some great ideas on where to go for entertainment and fun. Our room on the 13th floor looked out at the Tennessee capitol building which made for an amazing view. The hotel is located a block or so off Broadway so it was close enough to walk to, but not right in the center of the noise and crowds. Great vacation... great hotel!
