“Not very impressed!”
Reviewed July 21, 2010

I stayed here this past week and it was just okay. The lobby/lower hotel level was nice and clean. We went to our room on the second floor and the first thing we saw was a big, black spider. I'm not joking! The rooms were okay, but the carpet and chair was filthy and the bathroom needed a makeover. The bed was so soft and worn out that I fell out of bed one night. There isn't a fridge in the room, but I heard we could rent one for $10/night. One elevator door kept sticking open and I was a little uneasy about getting into it after that episode. There were many people waiting 2-3 hours in the lobby for a clean room. Granted it was a very busy week there, but they should have had more people to help clean the rooms faster. We were not very impressed with the restaurant in the hotel either. Seemed overpriced for what we got and some of the waitstaff were rude. If we wanted to use the internet in the business center it was $5 bucks minimum! What a rip-off!

I've stayed here a few times this year. It's a decent hotel in a great location. For $59 a night, it's a great deal. The rooms are nice and relatively clean. In our room there were scuff marks on the wall, some of the wall paper had started peeling and smudges on the windows. We also had to change rooms because the toilet in our first room kept running. The front desk was very accommodating as far as quickly giving us a new room. I had to unload my own car, although the bellman did show up to take the cart to the room. I think there's only bellman on duty because I saw many people loading/unloading their own bags. Bottom line, great hotel if you get it for less than $70 bucks, but not the best choice if you're stickler for housekeeping details or looking for high-end accommodations.

Our time at the hotel was amazing. The rooms were really nice. The service could not have been better. Mentioned to front desk that shower drain was not draining - it was fixed by the time we returned. The food in the restaurant was very good and we were waiting on hand and foot. The staff really could not have been nicer. The shuttle service is extremely convenient and the drivers are very friendly, polite and helpful. Stayed there the 1st week in July, going back lasgt week in July for a long weekend. Have been recommending this hotel on Facebook and I will certainly return again.

Absolutely fantastic hotel! For the price everything from the outside when you pull up..through the check in and up the elevator to the room was perfect. Very friendly and helpful staff. Front desk help, house cleaning crew, driver of the shuttle were more than pleasant and very helpful. The pool area is more beautiful than the picture shows, nicely landscaped, water was cleaned and maintained, lots of lounge chairs plenty of towels for the pool area and patio area with umbrella tables. Fitness area was very nice. Every place in the hotel was very clean not everything is brand new and some things may not be of your decorating taste but this is a very well attended and maintained place. The shuttle service is a great feature no hassle or cost for parking downtown, and the driver will give you hints on dining it does stop pick up at 10:30 pm each day which is way to early for a town that parties all nite but cab fare back to the hotel is less than $10. Keep up the good work we look forward to our next visit!

We had a 7-night stay at the Millenium Maxwell House as the second second stage of our trip in the States. I'm so glad we did.

Having read some of the reviews I was somewhat nervous of what I and my family would be getting. My concerns were completely unfounded, this is a great hotel - with the most friendly and helpful staff in any hotel I have ever stayed in.

On arrival at the airport a simple call on the designated hotel phone within the arrivals area and after a short wait (15min - we were advised exactly how long it would be) our party of seven was collected and driven to the hotel with our driver Candy(?) pointing out various local points of interest and giving us a general summary of what the hotel had to offer.

The shuttle bus was a excellent service. Running from early morning to 10.30pm it took me and my family back and forth of numerous trips down town. Even at the busy times -first thing in the morning and between 6.30pm -7.30pm the hotel had three buses running to keep guests waiting times down. On one occassion our driver Mike gave us a great (unprompted) tour of Downtown!

Pool area is very nicely presented and at 3-4feet in depth was ideal for my kids - the youngest learned to swim propoerly whilst staying. At busy times sunbeds can be difficult to get but there are plenty of other chairs in the nearby patio area. Bar with a 'Happy-Hour' seeming to last all day provied a good selection of food and drinks - the three ladies who work there made it feel like a lproper ocal-bar! The hotel also has a well stocked little shop that is very reasonably prived for all items.

Unlike New York where tipping is deemed the same as death and taxes - the staff don't expect tips but certainly the standard of service they provide deserved it.

We had a room overlooking the pool area which suited us as this was where we spent most time during the day. Hotel does offer great view of city on front-side. Rooms are spacious and well serviced.

I would recommend the Millenium Maxwell House to anyone visiting Nashville and I hope we get the chance to go back some day.

We arrived early at the hotel and understood that our room wouldn't be ready till the afternoon so the girl on reception confirmed our booking for a king bed and said she would call us in the afternoon to let us know when the room was available. We took the free shuttle downtown which is a great service but by 4pm we still had not received a call. We got the shuttle back to the hotel and got our room key. When we went up to our room it had 2 double beds. We called to reception and she told us that they had no more king beds available and that because we booked through hotels.ca they couldn't guarantee a king bed just that a room would be available. She said she could give us a queen bed however. I was not impressed by this as the girl earlier had confirmed we had a king bed and we selected this option when booking online. When we went back downstairs to change room she said she realized that the room actually had 2 double beds not a queen but for the inconvenience she would put us on the 9th floor stating it was a much nicer room. When we got there it was the exact same room but higher up and becuase we were at the back of the hotel the view was really nothing special.

We were very disappointed with the service, I don't sleep in a double bed at home so why would a pay to sleep in one? I can say for the hotel though that it was nice and clean and they had a nice gift shop which was a good idea. The shuttle was a great service but we did have to wait when we took it around dinner time as there were a lot of people using it.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights here last week. Priceline rated it a 3 star hotel and we got it for $55 per night. Not a bad bargain. If you stay here request a room up higher with an even number so you have a nice view of downtown Nashville. Check in was easy and the lobby was freshly carpeted. We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds. Beware! The mattresses are quite soft and your wife will find herself rolling towards the center of the bed if you outweigh her by even a slight margin. The Millenium should really upgrade this aspect of their hotel. The bathrooms are fairly small with the sink located outside in a small vanity area. The bathtub drain is tricky. It's spring loaded so you have to actually push on it to get it to pop up and then the tub drains fine. The toilets have been retro-fitted with internal tanks so the flushing mechanism is also a very sensitive spring load. Don't hold the lever down when you flush, just tap it! There is free parking right out front of the hotel which is very nice. The drive to downtown Nashville from here is a snap. One right turn on to Rosa L Parks boulevard and you are downtown in 5 minutes tops. Don't let other reviewers let you feel this is too far away from the action. This hotel is showing it's age but it's still an OK spot to stay for a couple of nights.
