“Great Place to Stay!!”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

The room was decent size. It was clean. It wasn't overly crowded. The complimentary breakfast buffet was amazing. The shuttle would take you anywhere you needed to go for no charge. I would recommend this place to anyone who is trying to enjoy Nashville.

Not a great area to try to walk downtown...need to either drive or take the shuttle. The shuttle only runs till 10:30pm but downtown doesn't shut down till well after that, not an easy area to get a cab. But I will say the shuttle was pretty timely, the longest we waited was 30 min. The pool is nice and there's a walk up window for the bar which was great. Our room was pretty quiet and it seemed clean when we checked in, but on our last night had a roach on the wall, and noticed a stain on the comforter (coffee? Blood? Either way not good as it wasn't from either of us). I don't normally use the comforter in hotels or I would probably noticed earlier. Staff was friendly. Overall, just average. Too expensive to stay downtown, but not the best hotel experience I've had.

First of all, the Gift Shop is the cleanest & most orderly shop I've seen - Truly attractive with very polite and helpful staff. Also the Bartender and wait staff are very friendly and accommodating & made the visit fun.
Secondly, if the best thing I can say about a hotel is the gift shop and the bar, the rest is pretty sad.
Millennium does 80% of the business adequately. However the critical 20% they lack is the 20% that keeps you coming back - the absence of Customer Service being the most glaring. They gave perfunctory service - just enough to do the job...nothing extra...not even a smile. I've yet to see a group of employees as unmotivated as these bored, listless, unsmiling people. This says a lot about the way they are treated & the management style at Millennium. For heaven's sake, send them to customer service school. EXAMPLE: We were on a pre-paid tour, yet one of our members had the entire room charged to her card. When she asked the front desk to remove it & explained the young lady flatly refused to remove it all & offered to remove HALF. Our friend had to escalate to the top manager to get it addressed. Totally unnecessary & left a very bad taste in our mouths.

All that's been said about the facilities is spot on: the pool closes at sunset!!!!!! (geezo!), no refrigerators in the rooms, $10/day in room wi-fi and you have to RENT a microwave (also $10/day) AND no room number signs when exiting the elevator. You have to wander about to find your room, adding to the inconvenience.

And DO NOT call the hotel for directions. The Operator sent us 8 miles out of the way, called back to connect with a girl with an accent so thick you could not understand her, called back to have the phone ring 20 times and FINALLY got connected to a girl who looked up where we were & gave us directions from there. WOW!

Word to the Management:
(1) Provide written directions from every approach to your Operator to guest who want to give you money can do so.
(2) Treat your employees better so they will tr
(2) Second Place is First Loser. Your competition is winning.

I was sent here because of a online purchase. What a mistake. This place is not a 3.5 star hotel. Maybe a 2 or 2.5 at best. Paint and wallpaper pealing from the walls ect. Toilet in my room had small leak, some of the lamps in my room had no bulbs and the bed was old and lumpy.
Then to top it off the AC in the room is a window/wall unit with the only controls on the unit itself. Low or high Heat or AC. So that was another substandard issue for me.
I would not stay here again.

Really enjoyed this hotels - modern, and a little out out of town, but very friendly staff. Great drivers, who transport you to all the great places in town for just a tip - a really modern hotel with traditional values. I'll come back here for sure.

We happened upon a deal on Hotwire and were pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean for being an older hotel, and the staff very friendly. I was bit disappointed there wasn't free Wifi in the room, and the ventilation in the bathroom was awful. There was not an operating fan and after one shower, the door handle was even perspiring. Other than that, we had no complaints. The shuttle service to the downtown area was prompt and convenient, and the driver very friendly and accommodating.
Prices in the restaurant were a bit high but the food was good.

Room Tip: We were on the city side and the view at night was very nice. Pool is very nice too, as are the gro...

We were excitedly looking forward to our stay in Nashville for the NAPO Convention at the Maxwell House. We loved the look as we drove up. Unfortunately, our thrill ended as we pulled up. As we struggled to unload 3 large suitcases and various carryon bags from our trunk, a man in uniform stood at his podium and watched. Didn't offer any assistance or a luggage cart, just watched from behind his podium. We then went to the lobby desk to check in and were, at first ignored by one woman and then finally checked in by a second young woman with very little enthusiasm. The afternoon and evening desk staff were more responsive and friendly though. The lobby is well decorated with lots of guitar artwork. Kind of fitting in "Music City"!

On to our room for further disappointment. Room was small, beds were small, bathroom was small. Sink outside of bathroom sprayed water when turned on. Bedding looked nice but mattresses proved to be very uncomfortable and one was so sunk in in the middle, when we slept together, my husband and I rolled into the middle all night. I ended up sleeping with my daughter in her bed the rest of the stay. Also, room keys had to be recharged 5 times! So frustrating and unexplained. We have never had this issue in other hotels and know to keep them away from cell phones and magnets.

The pool area was small and the pool itself was a little cloudy but ok. Need more lounge chairs around pool but plenty of fresh towels were available. Water was cool and refreshing.

Security seemed to be lacking. On two different occasions, men from our group were approached by individuals asking for money. Once in the parking lot and another time, in the courtyard next to the pool. They would have had to enter this area through the lobby! I began to worry that if they walked right through the lobby to pan handle, what would stop them from going up on the floors...

Housekeeping was not great as well. Toilet not wiped down, no bar soap left on 2 occasions. Only 2 towels and no washcloths left for use on the last night and following morning. Come on, use a check list!

The food was good for our organization's reception and breakfast each morning. Reception offered a grits bar that was delicious and fun and other finger foods that tempted the taste buds? The fruit was fresh and pastries were as well. We also had breakfast buffet in the restaurant on 3 occasions and enjoyed our meals! Rose, our server, was a gem! Friendly and attentive, always checking back to see if we needed anything. Rose should be at your front desk, as the ambassador of the hotel!

The overall feeling I left with is a hotel just waiting to fail and close. I also wondered is the manager away (cats away so the mice will play)? For me, customer service goes a long way to make up for a less than wonderful room. Front desk staff should be looking up and greeting people within 10 feet of their desk. It's a sign of attentiveness and caring for guests. A man at the front door should be offering to help a lady unload her bags and get them on the curb. Security should visible and paying attention to who walks into the hotel.

In spite of the proximity to downtown Nashville, we ended up leaving a day earlier than planned to check into another hotel. Although farther away, the accommodations were far better.

Thank you for helping to make the Millennium Nashville be a better place. We have 24 hour security all with Law Enforcement background and we are one of the few hotels in Nashville that can say that. The hotel is located in the Metro Center business park and traditionally do not have problems with panhandlers in this part of town. We do have MOD 24 hours a day so please fill free to ask to speak with one when you have a issue. Our MOD and staff is trained to serve our guests to the highest standards and we apologize if that is not what you experienced.
