Outstanding location. The hotel is within 2 miles or so of LP stadium and within a mile or so of the arena and the country & western music scene. It is an easy and quick drive downtown and is walkable on a nice day. The hotel is also within a block of Vanderbilt University and is surrounded by a wonderful variety of restaurants. Check out the Brewpub across the street. The waitress informed us that they had just won first place for one of their microbrews at the major US competition. We will stay here again when we next visit Nashville due to its location and free parking. Why stay downtown where one pays for parking?

The only downside is that due to space contraints, the breakfast area is too small if the hotel is near capacity. We stayed 10/06/06 and the facility was either filled or close to capacity.

Stayed one night. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Nice big bathroom. Clean.

Even cleanup staff were Americans and spoke English. What a treat. Had a very good experience. Recommend.

This hotel makes a great first impression -- welcoming staff, very clean room. The free breakfast included a few hot foods as well as a variety of breads/muffins, cereal, fruit and beverages. No towels in the outdoor pool area, so bring your own or grab one from the room. The beds appear new, with fluffy bedding that felt great but did not, alas, provide a great night's sleep. Still, the location is perfect for visiting Vanderbilt, or even for visiting downtown without having to pay higher downtown prices and there's plenty of free parking.

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night in May as a stop over between Memphis and the Smoky Mountains. The hotel staff at reception were very helpful and friendly and the reception area very welcoming and comfortable. The room was lovely with all the usual facilities (fridge, coffee maker etc) and was very clean, comfortable and well decorated .. The buffet breakfast was the best we had on this trip and we stayed at several different hotels - cereal, fruit, yogurt, waffles, toast, scrambled eggs, orange juice, bagels, muffins etc and a selection of coffees and teas. Tea and coffee were available in the lounge area 24hrs. Although we did not use it, the outdoor pool area looked lovely. The surrounding area is nice and includes the Vanderbilt University campus. There are a lot of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and it is only a short drive/taxi ride/bus trip to downtown. Nashville is a very clean and welll looked after city. The trolley tour around town is well worth doing. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel and found it to be very good value

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hampton Inn recently for one night, and I thought it was great. The staff was hospitable, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast offered a good variety of food. We even took advantage of the pool which is a nice amenity. On our last trip to Nashville, we stayed at the Loews across the street, which is a very nice hotel - but I would also recommend the Hampton Inn if you're looking for a nice, clean, affordable place to stay.

One staff member was very rude to my elderly parents. My father was getting ready to go to Vanderbilt Hospital for a procedure and woman at front desk was not helpful and acted as if she did not care to accommodate them in any way. They cancelled their reservation and stayed at a different hotel.

Front desk staff very nice and helpful. Buffett breakfast in the morning was good (muffins, biscuits, fruit, coffee). Good location near campus and restaurants. $5 cab ride to downtown area.
