“Stayed here during a procedure at Vanderbilt”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

Excellent hotel for nearness to Vanderbilt Hospital. Front desk was excellent for finding a room with the Vanderbilt rate when I made the reservation and then for getting me the type room I wanted when I checked in. Hotel has a number of eating places within walking distance which is handy when one has a recovering spouse. Hotel is busy due to its location in the West End and also was a bit noisy one night due to some inconsiderate guests. Would definitely stay here again.

I had an excellent experience at this hotel. We stayed for four days when my daughter was married in her groom's hometown of Nashville. I had arranged for a block of 15 rooms for out-of-town guests. The arrangements worked out well (including guests being given a welcome gift from us when they checked in), and the few glitches that occurred were quickly straightened out.

All the guests in our party, including myself, were very pleased with the accommodations. The rooms were nice and roomy, with comfortable beds, and the location was excellent, in walking distance to Vanderbilt University, Centennial Park, and various restaurants. We all appreciated the no-cost amenities: free parking, free hot breakfast, and a free shuttle within a 2-mile radius (which included downtown). When it was time to leave we were able to print out our boarding passes in the computer room.

I can't say enough about the staff. They were friendly, well-informed, and very helpful to me as I completed the last-minute tasks of wedding preparations. One even was able to get me a paper cutter when he found out that I was preparing table decorations for the reception. Although the staff was busy, I always had the feeling that they were concerned about making our stay pleasant. When one staff member showed me how to make a waffle in the breakfast room, for example, she later asked to make sure I had found the syrup -- a small detail, but revealing of the level of service that seemed to be the norm.

The negatives were few and minor. The area for hanging clothes in the room could have been bigger, and the parking was sometimes tight for those returning to the hotel late -- the last spaces in the lot tended to be very narrow since some guests didn't park correctly.

Great location. Convenient to downtown Nashville and Grand Ole Opry. Room was clean and neat. Great bed and quiet room. Oddly the hallways were hot. Very nice outdoor pool. I did not interact with staff, so I cannot comment. Hotel is located near some of the best restaurants in Nashville.

Great location, hard working staff. Plenty of great restaurants and micro brew within walking distance. Within easy driving distance of all the great Nashville destinations. Highly recommended -- these folks try very hard to please.

We really love this place. The staff was so gracious, respectful and helpful. Above and beyond the call of duty so to speak. The buffet is good and well run. much more than many hotels. It included meat and eggs and many other cold items. We did not go in the pool but it looked great. The room was clean and roomy and quiet. The locatoion is perfect for downtown and the university. Lots of places to eat. We had trouble with our card entry to our room but the staff went out of their way to help us get into the room quickly. When you enter the hotel all the staff looks at you and greets you. It seems real too. When they help for whatever it is not forced. They really want to help. The parking is a bit tight but it is free. I would love to go back to this hotel;.

This is a recently renovated hotel and they've done a beautiful job! The room was lovely and very comfortable. The entire building is very modern and sleek looking. The only problem was an odor of mildew in the room. Granted, I am pregnant and my sense of smell is extremely sensitive. My husband didn't think it was all that bad. Granted, once in the room for a while you don't really notice it. I did mention the odor to the front desk and the were wonderful and offered a room change. The second room had the same odor. It was explained that since the original building is quite old the airflow is a little lacking. It gets so humid in that area that it is understandable. The odor was NOT a reflection of the cleanliness of the room. I'm very picky and the room was spotless. Other than that, this really was a great hotel and a nice stay. Staff are wonderful.
