“Really good country food”

I've been here several times and there the real thing if you like country food. Nothing fancy to look at but everything is genuine country. The folks are friendly and it get's a little crowded at lunch time but it's worth it.....good lemon merainge pie.....forgive my spelling.

“Great food and great prices”

We first visited this restaurant because we could easily park our RV there and get out easily. Going inside, we were quickly greeted and seated. Our drink order was taken and very quickly delivered to our table. We then ordered our meal. Much to our surprise, less than 5 minutes later it was on the table, hot and ready to eat. The portions were generous and very good. When we got our bill, it was so reasonable that we decided that this would be our 'go to' restaurant, when we wanted to eat out. I recommend it highly for good family meals. Nothing fancy, but very friendly family atmosphere.

“Mixed review”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2012

The desk clerk recommended this place and judging by the locals there it was a favorite. My wife had the porkchops and raved about them. I tried the breaded steak and thought it was less than praiseworthy. The sides were good though it's the first time I've heard of mashed potatoes being called creamed potatoes. Ithe gravy was canned. A good southern style cream gravy would have certainly helped. The fried okra was very good. We both had the chess pie, remebering it from our childhoods. It wasn't the same. The mid south delight we were raised on had a touch of molasses and a crispy browned top. This was a little bland. Still, it was probably a local interpetation of the classic and seemed to go over big with the locals. The best part was the waitress who was efficient and friendly. All the food was served with true southern hospitality. And the price was very reasonable.

“Home cooked, just like granny made”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2011

Great food at reasonable price.Everything is homemade. Lots of sides: pickled beets, turnip greens, corn bread, yummy rolls, white beans, and of course the regular stuff like green beans, coleslaw, french fries etc. Pies are delicious too. My husband had the chicken and dumplins. Best he ever had.
