December 2010. Stayed in a studio room. 2 adults and 3 kids. The studio room was a little crowded with 3 kids but there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep. Room was clean, service was excellent, breakfast was good. My only complaint was the parking. There is a parking lot right in the front of the hotel but it is city owned. If you park there overnight, you must go out and renew your parking at 6:00 AM in the morning. If you park in the hotel parking lot, it is 1 1/2 blocks away.

Overall, this hotel is OK. However, describing a Hilton property as "OK" is a letdown for us since we usually leave feeling much more satisfied.

The location is fine, but there are other Hilton family hotels that are closer to the action of Broadway and 2nd ave. Vagrants are numerous in the area also, so walking from the hotel to other downtown locations is a little uncomfortable. I think the Nashville Metro Police could do a better job with this. I've been to many cities around the world and I can honestly say that this issue seems more prevelant in Nashville as compared to equivilant sized cities.

If you don't want valet parking, the self parking alternative is inconvenient as the garage is a block and a half away. We were met by a bellhop immediately upon arrival and he was very friendly and helpful.

The facility itself doesn't have a swimming pool but does have a whirlpool, albeit small. There is a fitness room and free wifi. The wifi signal was strong, however bandwith was ocassionaly an issue. There is a self serve laundry room which we find an extremely nice perk.

The room was fine, quite large actually. Great for families. It wasn't as clean as I'd like, but not filthy either. The shower floor seemed dingy and the coffee maker wasn't cleaned of mineral deposits. The mattress seemed "springy" which to me means it was getting old. The rest of the room and hotel looked good.

One disappointment we experienced was when we discovered vomit in the stairwell one night. Of course, the fact that it was there is not the hotel's fault. The disappointment was that we reported it to the front desk and two days later when we checked out the vomit had not been cleaned up. I know it's a dirty job, but am I supposed to clean it for them?

Another issue is that the hotel has an alley alongside it with dumpsters. We were awoken one morning around 7am to a garbage truck taking care of business for about 15 minutes. By the time the truck left, we were wide awake. I would suggest asking for a room NOT adjacent to the alley. Perhaps better windows or other soundproofing measures could be implemented. Yes, our drapes were drawn shut.

The free breakfast was OK but limited; I've seen more breakfast selections at Hampton Inns. The free dinner with beer and wine was much appreciated.

All in all, we would probably choose a different property if our travels bring us to Nashville again. Although the Homewood Suites was convenient to downtown and the room was very spacious, the aformentioned letdowns will probably keep us away.

It would take a page to tell you everything wrong with this hotel. The main thing is that the room we stayed in was not clean. I told them about it and it was supposed to be taken care of and never was. I ended up cleaning it myself as my husband has allergys. The parking and the check-in are inconvenient. The best thing was the breakfast and the evening reception. I booked this hotel with my Hilton Honors but will not stay here again. Our room faced a parking garage with horns beeping all the time. I told the Asst. manager how I felt about our stay when we were checking out and he was a very nice person and comped our parking but I would not stay here again. They really need to improve on their cleaning skills and manaement.

I recently stayed here for 3 nights with some friends and we had a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Our suite faced the inner atrium, but that wasn't a complaint as we were out enjoying the city all day anyway. The free breakfast was also great! There was a large variety of food available and it was all fresh and tasty. Craig at the front desk was especially helpful during our stay. He offered to make tour and transportation reservations for us and had a lot of helpful tips for us during our visit. I would definitely stay here again!

Traveling with our dog. Had made reservations for non-smoking room. Upon arrival, after wheeling our luggage cart past homeless men camped out adjacent to the main hotel entrance, we were told at the front desk that management had just changed the hotel's policy on pets, and effective immediately all guest with pets ($100. pet fee) were now assigned to the property's smoking floor. Pointed out to them that we had reserved a non-smoking room. They would not budge. Room we were given was dark and sorely in need of a makeover. In the morning, after again asking the front desk to honor our request for a non-smoking room and getting nowhere, we asked for and received a refund and moved to another hotel.

Okay lets start with the positives, it was an easy, quick and painless check-in. The location is really great - just a short stroll to the action of broadway. (although I'm sure most places downtown are a pretty good location to broadway).
The free breakfast was great, huge room and lots of choice and hot items - probably the best part of the stay.

The negatives. As it was a room for 3 people I booked the sofa bed. (Assuming that it would be made up as 2 people in double bed - extra person in sofa bed). When pulling out the bed we noticed it was not made up. We couldn't find sheets or blankets anywhere in the room so we called reception (I think this was about 10pm) they said they don't make up the sofa beds but would send up some sheets and pillows. When the bedding was delivered it was actually a mattress protector and instead of pillows it was two cushions. We dealt with it for that night. The next day housekeeping made up our bed after we asked them if we could have some proper bedding. Worked out okay in the end but disapointing that we had to chase bedding at all.

The other thing we didnt like was that our room faced inwards (looking out at reception instead of outside) it means you don't really have any natural light and need to put the light on in the day. Not a big deal for most people I guess but we didn't really like it.

Overal we liked the breakfast and the location but next time we're in Nashville we'll stay somewhere else.

The location is very close and within walking distance to restaurants, all the nightlife, and the Bridgestone Arena, We enjoyed the daily fresh and delicious breakfast.

Our room was very well appointed and extremely clean. The room was also equipped with all the amenitites needed for a great stay.

The service was great, however: we did experience difficulites from the front desk with our credit and gift card.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for value, location, and cleaniness.
