Review of Exit/In

Very small venue. Regardless of where you are, you won't be far from the stage.

There is a balcony with chairs/tables and space for merch tables underneath.

The bar is on the left, immediately as you enter the front door. Mixed drinks are $4, tallboys are $4, bottled beer is $5. A bottle of water is $2.

The place is nothing fancy, but it isn't supposed to be a high end bar. It's a room for people to play and hear music. And it definitely gets the job done.

If the show has a big turnout, the place will be crowded. Not exactly a great place for people who expect to be able to sit down and have an issue standing up during a show.

But for the rest of us, who don't whine about not having a chair, it's a good place. Go see one or your favorite bands here and you'll have a great time.

Loved the venue! Not much seating in terms of quantity, but when we were there we had no trouble finding a seat on the balcony until we were ready to go down to the main floor. It was a very laid back venue which we love. No pretense at all. No issues with the staff. The bathrooms were....interesting? since they are pretty much on the same level as the stage. Bathrooms are not very large and frankly like most bar bathrooms I've run across. But - there was always TP though! :)

It was interesting to see all the artists that have previously played there. I bet those were some amazing shows. I would totally see another show there (we drove down from MI for this particular one). We were standing right in front of one of our favorite artists in an intimate venue - just awesome!

A hot nightspot off the beaten tracks of Nashville, TN. Fun filled musical experience for students of Vanderbilt University and for travellers that are up for the exploration. A must see for anyone hungry for local music.

I need to be careful here. I knew I had walked on hallowed ground when I walked into the “EXIT/IN”. We walked into a place where the list of greats that have played here is long (no matter what your music style is).

We had the pleasure of seeing Ryan McGarvey in this house and he was "AWSOME". The folks that brought him to this house get a gold star!!!

That said, the housekeeping really sucked. We found all of the tables and chairs (chairs means something to set on that was the worst excuse for a seat) stacked into a pile in the corner, and you were (we guessed) more than welcome to move them wherever you wanted. Drinks were very expensive and self serve.

There are a lot of possibilities for this venue. If they can continue to bring this kind of talent into this place, and can clean it up some, it could be (as it was in the past) a great hot spot for musical talent in Nashville.
