We went to the Frist hoping to grab lunch at the museum cafe, but discovered that it was closed for renovation. So we looked for a place nearby and discovered The Flying Saucer that is literally across the street from the museum in an old train depot - you need to know it is there - it is not terribly obvious from the street that there is a great pub inside. The decor is funky with plates all over the walls and ceiling and the staff was friendly. They have lots of great beer options (many on tap and local) and appealing menu wth burgers, salads, pizza etc that offers something for everyone. This was a great find - I'm glad the cafe was closed!

Located in the old baggage area of Union Station and adjacent to the Frist Art Museum, and across Broadway from Christ Church Cathedral, it can be a handy place to grab a bite. Their menu is limited but interesting. Comfort food is a grilled cheese sandwich and creamy tomato soup, and their German potato salad is the best I’ve eaten in this town. However, their main emphasis is the consumption of beer! I could not get the connection between UFOs and the railway history and conceded that there is absolutely none - instead regular customers gain recognition of their beer consumption, by a large charger plate screwed securely to the ceiling – let's hope none of them take flight!

The beer and food was quite good. Nice atmosphere. Disappointed that they were out of several things and had yet to change the menu to reflect that.

They have a great selection of beer on tap and in cans and bottles. Pretty much a beer for any taste. The have some local beers on tap as well. The food was pretty good. Standard pub grub. The place is huge. Great for larger groups.

What a great find on our visit to Nashville for CMA Festival. Both of us non beer drinkers but after a suggestion from bar staff we enjoyed a very refreshing beer & enjoyed a great lunch with it.
