“Ordinary”
Reviewed February 21, 2012

Went with friends. Wait staff was too young, only paying attention to their friends. Took forever to get waited on while they chatted with familiar folks. Forgot to take our order. Then got the orders wrong. The burgers were unremarkable and we were ticked off. When the owner came in from his other spot, he was pleasant, and we noticed the wait staff was much more attentive when boss showed up. Not good food, not good service.

“Great service, pretty good food”
Reviewed November 21, 2011

I had very high expectations based on the reviews here. The jambalaya was good, but I've had better. The service was excellent. They were very accommodating with our 6-month-old baby, even on a Sat. night. The jazz is not too loud for a baby, and they sat us on the indoor "patio" so we could still hear the music but it would not be too loud. The chef came out to see us, which was a nice touch. Overall, I would go here again -- just expect very good jambalaya, not the greatest ever, and you'll be happy.

“Group visit - not a pleasant one”
Reviewed November 21, 2011

I sent a group to Raz'z for dinner when in Nashville during a tour. We had arranged for a limited menu with having 40 people in the group it makes it easier. We were told all was ready for the group prior to their arrival, so my group leader called when they were 15 minutes away from the restaurant to say they were on the way and they were told the restaurant was ready for them. When the group arrived there was not enough seating for everyone and they were not in fact ready for the group. The menu we had chosen was not the one offered to our group so they were very disappointed as they were looking forward to catfish while in Nashville. They also were not offered the dessert we were promised. Then the waitress told them they were short staffed both in wait staff and 2 chefs that had not shown up that night and also argued with my group about whether they had paid for their drinks or not. Ultimately the group left the restaurant without dessert and unhappy! We then addressed these issues with management after the group had left and they had very little to say or do about the group's unhappiness. Be cautious on taking groups to this restaurant!

“Excellent, friendly service and good food.”
Reviewed November 10, 2011

We went here with some friends and family after the football game last weekend. The service was both friendly and fantastic, and the chef came out to make sure our food was to our liking.

The menu has a wide selection, but everyone who had Cajun dishes raved about how good they were. I had the pot roast and it was pretty tasty. My buddy really liked his burger. They have a pretty decent selection of beer and what appeared to be a well stocked bar. The after dinner coffee was fantastic and they even provided me a to-go cup of water for our trip back to Memphis.

Overall a pleasant experience and somewhere I'd recommend to friends and revisit next time I'm in town.

Cost seemed to be between $8-20 a person depending on entree.
