I had a great meal with my family at Jackson's. It is not your run of the mill restaurant. I thought the menu had a wonderful selection of meals that you don't find at the chains (Applebees, Chilis, etc.). I had a steak with garlic butter and fries, my son's had steak sandwiches with a specialty sauce and avocado, and my wife had a grilled chicken wrap and homemade tomato soup. I thought the menu had a nice variety; including salads, entrees, sandwiches and burgers. There were not dozens of choices, but it seemed to have something for everyone. Although, I have to agree with another reviewer that it is not the place for young children. No chicken tenders or kids menu as far as I could tell.
We went in between lunch and dinner hours on a Friday. It does seem to have more of a bar atmosphere, but I think it would be fine for teenagers (I have a college and HS age son and it was fine for them). The atmosphere is sort of funky and dark. I thought the service was excellent.
